I keep getting logged out?

I don't know what's going on. I generally stay logged in all the time, even if I'm on a different tab, so when I come back I'm good to go. But lately I have had to log in every time. Then this morning, after logging in, I typed out a long reply and when I went to attach a pic, the window that opened was the log-in page?
Because it has happened to me before, I knew better that to try to continue or even back out. I copied the text and then went to log in again. After that, I could paste and attach as normal.
Something has to have changed? There have been times where I would have been logged in continuously for months and as soon as I opened that tab, all good.

Re: I keep getting logged out?

Only thing that comes to mind is an update on your web browser. I know google has done some stuff and so has Winders Edge. They may have put in a security setting that won't accept certain site tokens. That is my best guess for you.

Only other thing I can think of is the site recently updated it's credentials, maybe have your browser clear/delete it's cache and then retry the logins to see if it saves it then.

Re: I keep getting logged out?

That is odd. I haven't had any problem staying logged in and my laptop has been acting up, but just the font size. The text goes from so huge that you can only see part of a page to so small that it's impossible to read.

Computers do their own thing sometimes.

this is probably it, firefox and google chrome both have updated to clear cookies when you close the browser, in the name of security. I have to log in and do 2 factor on all my bank accounts since then.

I had the same problem awhile back but for reasons known only to God and your local Fortune Teller it went away.

Re: I keep getting logged out?

I'm having the same problem. I was laid up in bed the other day and reading a long build thread. I'm not a slow reader, but every five pages or so I'd log out for some reason.

I haven't had any problems.... Yet... I use FireFox.

If you are checking the "remember me" box when you log in, I guess I would agree with the others on a browser, cookie, or cache problem.

The problem I was having, for a few days, seems to have resolved itself?

Same thing for me. It's happening on multiple computers, Operating systems and locations. Also the side bar forum menu has disappeared for me.

Re: I keep getting logged out?

I haven't been getting logged out lately, but I have from time to time and I figure it was due to site maintenance.

I start on the home page. I always select where I want to go (forums) from the side bar. That was always on the left but not so long ago it switched to the right column. Just as of yesterday, I am not given the same options that were shown in either side column. I had to figure out the only way is select "forums" from all the way up top on that blue bar where options such as user cp, gallery, merch, members list, etc are

This exactly but constantly getting logged out. I can't even log in for one part of the board and then post on another without logging in again.

I get that too when I click the link to an older thread like when doing a search for something, on the laptop or phone. I do use the newest address on each.

We dont have a sidebar on the forums. There was one with outdated links on the main page that is not viewable at this time. I will fix it, but we had a vendor complaint about links and had to remove it for now.

Re: I keep getting logged out?

I guess it was www. The same link I have used for as long as I can remember. I've updated to an https address. I've never really used anything but a www address for anything unless specifically instructed that I needed to do it to navigate to a site. I had no idea I would need to for this board. Thanks for your assistance.

Re: I keep getting logged out?

Gotta make.sure its a https address and no www. This version of vbulletin handles cookies stupidly. Ifnthat doesnt work, sometimes you have t9 clear your cookies and make sure the remember me box is selected.

I am going to.upgrade versions, am currently testing upgrade paths and makingnsure everything works on backups before o do the main change. Should end this issue then hopefully.
