I expected a nice piece knowing Kevin when I got him to do a job for me bt what I got far exceeded my expectations. I did not know brake calipers could be this good. When I felt them they are as smooth as glass. Better than any powdercoated parts from ECE or Brothers that I have ever bought.

How do the rubber seals in the calipers fare in the oven, or do you disassemble them before you spray and bake?

He actually requires a rebuild kit on them. He includes it in the price I believe. He would not stand by it he says unless the rebuild kit is put on it.

I believe you, wasn't trying to call anybody out. Just curious. From what I've seen the work is top rate.

No I did not believe you were calling anyone out, it is just that he believes the oven might screw the seals up and he does not trust brakes unless they are for sure. He has worked too many accidents.

Oh those look so good...Is it a myth about coating calipers. I was given the impression that a caliper can't perform 100% because of the heat build up coatings can cause. Trapping heat, bringing fluids up to an unacceptable temp range. Or does this apply to road racers only? Any opinions?

On those calipers, I actually went down to O Reilly and swapped for a fresh rebuilt set (under 30 for the pair). Then, I popped the piston out, removed the seals, coated and reassembled them.

I don't think heat buildup due to the coating is an issue. Look at all of the high end brakes, both OEM and aftermarket. A huge majority of them come from the manufacturer powdercoated in colors. Think Brembo, all of their calipers are coated bright red right out of the box.

I will chime in on the praise as well. He bead blasted some parts for me and they were shipped fast and at a very fair price. Parts look great. I would have had them PC'd but I am painting them to match the truck and this worked great and saved me a ton of time prepping the parts!

I bought some patch panels from Kevin today and got to see some of his powder coated work....the wife and I are very impressed and will be getting some stuff coated in the near future.....hell of a nice guy too!!!
