"I love that old car smell"

Some people are like Slinkies... not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

Re: Did GM do this?

GM didn't care back then as long as they were getting money. Heres my buddys 67 RS/SS Camaro that is factory Butternut Yellow with deluxe Turquoise bucket interior. He thought it was probably originaly a Turquoise car but I decoded the trim tag and right there it coded the above color combo.

Re: Did GM do this?

In 1971 when I was 10 my dad bought a new Cheyenne SWB off the lot, the colors were Hugger orange with a blue interior, years later (maybe1999) I asked him why those colors? His reply was "I liked the those colors."

Re: Did GM do this?

[QUOTE=ChevLoRay;5083413]I'm thinking the majority of vehicles you see on the lots are ordered by someone at the dealerships who are doing their best to appeal to as many potential buyers as possible.

True, I used to be that guy when I worked at SAAB. Fun part of the job, once ordered a 9-2X the way I would want one.. came in at $32,000 for a glorified Subaru Impreza .. fun for test drives ...

Back to the subject at hand, I think thats a killer deal for that truck, truely something different. I believe I had the WORST color combo available in these trucks and DANG I wish I would have kept photos of the SPID. It was white when I bought it but quickly discovered it was originally ORANGE ... with an OLIVE GREEN interior? No wonder is was painted!
