thanks for the pictures. I measured from that middle chunk where the hood closes (on the hood) and from there up to the skin and akin braces there is about 3" in most areas. my brackets are about 2 3/4 tall. so I'm going to be cutting it close! guess we'll see when I get the fenders ok and the hood back on

did you ever measure from the core support to the top of brackets with the spacers? wondering if they were close to what mine are..

My spacer was 2 1/4 " is all. My radiator cap was the first thing to hit.

ouch I'm probably going to run into some issues then. from the core support to the top of the radiator is about 1.5" so I'm thinking if I do run into interference, I will have to make some new top brackets. these are kinda bulky anyways. I'm sure I can get back about an inch if I reshape them.

well, I re thought this out and will be returning the big block radiator. last thing I wanna do is to cut into the hood.

ordered a cu369 which is listed for our trucks so hopefully it fits...including the an fittings I ordered for the trans lines. well see when it comes in

That was my best option even though I could not use my shroud anymore I had no cooling issues.

this new radiator fit like a glove with the 4 core hold downs. just need an adapter for the bottom hose and its good to go...well, and also raise my fan shroud some too. it even comes painted black!

shifted my attention back to the rear for now...trying to get some square tubing ordered for when i get the rear gas tank and floor together... and some sheet metal to get to mounting the front fender wells to the fenders.

so for now i just got the anti squat brackets in...i was seriously dreading this and putting it off. after trying to do with it a grinder and hand punch....i ordered an air hammer and it made it a breeze. chiseled the heads off and used the punch attatchment to drive it right out.

also got hitched and went on a cruise with the kiddos.....found this nice truck at the venue so i had to take a pic with it.

getting into more independent contracts with my dump truck business so working on the truck might come a little slower than it has been until that picks up

doing little things for now...finally got the an -6 house and fittings on for the trans to radiator. think i will work on getting the fuel lines ran right now until i get the rear frame and axle cleaned up and painted. needing some help on getting the right fittings together.

so i have the 2 fuel rail fittings on the motor (return style). i will be running the stock filter. from my research the stock filter has 16mmx1.5 threads (correct me if im wrong). if im right i have the fittings in the cart ready to order. im guessing the hose route goes like this - big line on the fuel rail is the feed line, that goes to the filter on the frame, then to the big feed line on the sending unit. smaller line on the rail is the return, which runs all the way to the small line on the sending unit. my issue is this, i have no idea what size an -6 adapters i need for the sending unit. im attatching some and a part number to help...

this is the sending unit.. Dorman 692-056 which is listed for an 88 chevy truck (suburban). the big line on the left looks like it runs to the fuel tube that has the fuel cap. 2nd line (big line) is the feed line that runs to the fuel filter, then to big line on the fuel rail. 3rd line is the return line, small fuel line on the rail runs to this. 4th line on the end is just a vent hose?

I believe that the last vent line should go to the fuel evap system in the OE application and through the charcoal canister it would vent the tank. This would be in a system with an unvented gas cap.

The large vent is used to vent the tank during fill up.

You may want to look at some later model Burbans and investigate how they vent their fuel tanks. Maybe you will be able to incorporate some of those components in your truck and enjoy the benefits of a unvented fuel cap.

got a little progress over the last week. got all my fuel fittings in and will be hopefully getting the fuel lines run this week if i get a chance. got the tank in and also cleaned up the frame and rear end. also ordered mostly everything to get the rear back in.... new bags, panhard bar, weld in shock mounts, and bag spacers. plan is to re weld the top mounts instead of cutting and lowering them. hopefully the bag spacer will work and give me some of my lift i was missing.

quick question, putting my drums back on after cleaning up and painting. i noticed my drums dont have the window for the adjuster, its just solid piece. do i have the wrong drums or am i missing something? i rebuilt everything about 8 years ago but they have zero miles....and i didnt notice then.
