Sweetness...incidentally, I ultimately ended up ditching the swaybar.
I didn't notice a difference. |

Why the tire size change?? Do you get a better feeling of the road with the 60's??

Re: Step by step Flip kit install 1 ton dually square (now with pics)
I'm itching to lower my dually, but I am wondering what kind of clearance is left between the axle and the frame, or bump stop with a flip?

I measured 7.5" of clearance between the top of my axle tube & the bottom of the frame rail. The leaf pack is about 5" tall & the rear axle tube is 4" OD. Since the tube is moving from below to above the leafs w/the flip kit, the spring pack height + 1/2 of the axle tube OD should yield the amount of drop or roughly 7". C-sections can be installed for a little more clearance but the bed floor will make contact w/the rear end differential housing.

Thanks for the info. I'll probably do a hanger\shackle drop and remove a few leaves to lower it. This was a great thread by the way.

Re: Step by step Flip kit install 1 ton dually square (now with pics)
Where did you get your kit from? I've been struggling to find anything for my '64 dually. Ultimately I'm just looking for a 3" static all the way around and eventually bag it.

Re: Step by step Flip kit install 1 ton dually square (now with pics)
Western Chassis has flip kits for 73-87 (-91 cc's) 1-tons. Might require some mod's to work on earlier stuff. For 3", you can do spindles for a 73-87 1-ton up front. The rear would require a shackle/hanger combo or shackles & removing some leafs. A flip kit would yield double that 3" drop
