Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)

Looks sweet dude. It's awesome to see the details coming together and you making it whole again. It's also cool that you've got the attention of other manufacturers and they're sending you free stuff, but don't let them entice you into changing your vision so that you'll throw a little bling on there for the show. Stick with your original plan and promote the Tubz as #1. Don't shadow your innovation behind blinky lights and chrome doo-dads that you got for free. Don't get me wrong, it's all nice stuff. Just don't throw the naked-lady mud flaps on there because they're a "sponsor". It's Mike's ride.

I think every man should have one somewhere. Mines on my workbench instead of a mud flap. You can get them at truck stops.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)

Sorry for the comment on the dash bezel.
The 67-68 trucks are unique trucks.
But the '67 is in my opinion the most unique.
It's the first year of this great body style.
Mikes truck is also the super cool big back window version that some people don't even think exists.
I like all the little details that set aside a truck and make it a true '67.
One year only details like the radio knobs and dash knobs.
I just hate to see the vision of this truck get lost in all the free stuff.
I'll keep my comments to myself.
Again sorry.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)

No way , I have no issue with the comments ! It was complete over sight on my part if you would have brought that to my attention before hand the right bezel would be in there, I just didnt even think about them being different in that way ! I don't know what to do with my dash knobs either ? Is there a way to restore them ?

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)

This truck isn't a true restoration to original. All those details like knobs and which door handles you have are really up to you and your vision of the what the truck will be. This is a full on custom truck and things like that are for a different crowd. There will be be no mistaking it for the 67 it is.

67 radios have smaller chrome knobs. You can always swap them later if you find a set. Door handles and window cranks are different, seat belts are unique, etc, but don't sweat the small stuff.

Whoa, Whoa here... back up the bus. lol

I hope you did not take my post as an attack on your opinion.

I was giving MIKE a hard time about the bezel not anyone else. I thought it was funny that we both had big window '67's and both had later model clusters...that and I couldn't pass up the chance to give him a hard time.

Sorry, if I came off wrong.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)

No-one came off wrong in my opinion ! This board is a great educator i sure dont proclaim to know everything about these trucks !! I do like people sharing this kind of stuff with me....i have some of the original parts being restored like the 67 buckles for the seat belts , and the e-brake , but i wasnt even thinking about the dash and i didnt know the radio knobs were different ! I will never be offended about someone else sharing information or opinions ! That is what i love about this board there arent any JERKS on here every other board i have heard of, is full of jerks cutting down everyone elses stuff....i wouldnt be on here if that was the case ! Share your opinions and ideas !

At this rate you won't be able to see out of your back window for all the stickers you'll have to rock.
