Re: The Mother Trucker.. FX Race Cars, Porterbuilt, Dyess Designs 68 coil over build

The 69 engine was sold last month. The car will be given to his son(first car) who is 1 now. A new 69 is being built that will be really lite with a small block for power. It will be interesting to see how fast the new car is. The big block ran 1 kit and made 1900hp.

Re: The Mother Trucker.. FX Race Cars, Porterbuilt, Dyess Designs 68 coil over build

A few updates , the doors have been fit to the new shape of the roof. And a test for A pillar wing and radiused drip rail. Im going to change the length of the wing on the top of the door to make it about an inch longer where it ties into the radius. I think Im going to clean up the door jamb some with sheetmetal as well in the rear of the cab. The end result of the roof and door shape is pretty much what I want. I did decide against the window frame removal because of the glass guides would be removed as well and could not get any info from anyone on how to try it.

New engine combo from TRE . 490 cubic inch small block. 1 carb cast manifold 1000 h.p.. Set up for nitrous that is about a 750 h.p. kit. 1750 h.p. with a big weight saving over the big block combo.

Awsome! That looks like a mid length header, would full length headers make more power?

Re: The Mother Trucker.. FX Race Cars, Porterbuilt, Dyess Designs 68 coil over build

Not sure ,Most of the time I tested headers at the track. Bigger helped speed. Smaller helped down low. Usually 28 to inch primary length. He just started on this project so it will be better once it runs down the track.

Re: The Mother Trucker.. FX Race Cars, Porterbuilt, Dyess Designs 68 coil over build

Lol I just typed for an hour about what has happened in the last 8 months and the computer crashed. Well the truck is in my garage , in my control. I bought a welder and a lot of tools for sheetmetal work. The cowl panel is filled and Darren started on my fender /step side aero ideas. Its really cool being able to tell someone what I want it gets done. This may not be for everyone but I am real happy with the outcome so far. The work is tacked and shaped and not completed yet, so it will be a few weeks till we work on it again.

Re: The Mother Trucker.. FX Race Cars, Porterbuilt, Dyess Designs 68 coil over build

The rear is more work but the result is really cool. The flare on the front and rear is 1" but it is subtle. Again its tacked and shaped not finished.

Nice updates, so you decided not to sell it? Hope to see you get this one completed!

Far as I know you can't. I wanted to change my build thread Meet Homer (the motor home) and get rid of the "Motor Home" part as it was removed 2 days after I started the project. Asked the moderator with no response. Good looking project. Hope you are able to see it through to the finish line.

I'm pretty sure only a moderator can change the title. You can ask one to do it for you.

I just read through your build. You've done quite a bit and it's looking good so far. I'm going to follow along to see how it turns out.

There is now way I (or any of us) have the time to edit almost 150 titles for you. If it is a legal issue I can remove the thread fully.

Thumbs down Re: The Mother Trucker.. FX Race Cars, Porterbuilt, Dyess Designs 68 coil over build

Ok sorry Liz I did not realize it would have to be in every thread. As of right now the truck can't be sold or even moved. It is considered stolen property until the pending investigation is complete. I did business with some one that decided he was going to be in control of my truck any way he could. When I picked the truck up in July (3 years after I brought it to FX) there were many things that did not get completed on the truck. Rear end brace, steering shaft, the rear fenders not mounted, there was suposed to be a drive shaft safety loop added . This has all been paid for. The side doors were supposed to be assembled and suplied with a pattern for side glass. I would not pay any more money because of the incomplete work!!! When I told Robert of my problem he told me it did not matter when he does the work. He said he should be charging me 150.00 per hour. He did not finish the work I wanted done. He presented a contract that he wanted me to sign stating that I owed $3800.00 in conseltation fees. Seriously he wanted $3800.00 for talking to me. He threatened to call the police so I offered to call for him. He decided not to call. He kept asking me not to take the truck because I refused to sign his contract. I took my truck anyway. I get home and Darren the guy that actually did the chop calls and tells me that Robert owes him $3800.00 dollars. Lol. Long story short FX is very dishonest. Now my vin tag on my truck came up missing during the time at his shop. There are several other people coming forward the stories of lengthy time frames for unfinished work. I have known Robert for 35years and considered him a friend. I know one customer that paid for a complete build yet Robert could not pay for parts. Lets just say I regret doing business with him and don't want others to think I condone his business practices. He refused my phone calls for 2 months but says I owed him money. Now after 3 years of putting up with this, my truck is considered stolen and worthless in till the DMV decides what to do.

The tag that is missing is not a vin. It is not relevant to I'd on the vehicle. I am good it looks like after all on that end.
