Re: "TANGERINE" (C20 to K10) (LWB to SWB) (CST/MOD) (5.3)

It's nice to see one of your old cars still on the road and doing well.

I haven't seen very many of my old cars around. The ones I have seen were in pretty rough shape compared to what condition they were in when I sold them except for one 90 Chevy truck I had. I see it around town quite a bit and it still looks great.

Must be pretty exciting to put your Camaro back together again and drive it on the street. Do you think you'll take it to the track too??

Thanks FrankieD, hope'n it will look as good as yours when I'm done but probably not, too many wires, computers and other junk under the hood. I'll try and make as sano as I can.

It will hit the track again after I work the bugs out of the new combination. I want to make it reliable enough to drive to the track, race all night then drive home in it.

Nothing worse than breaking a car you drove to the track and having to figure out how to get you and the car home.

Everybody that knew it before will think it is a completely different car with all the changes I am doing to it plus a paint job too. The thing has been in primer for more than 25 years. It's about time I got around to painting it.

Yeah, especially when you live two hours away!! Good thing we always used trailers to get to Spokane Raceway.

Can't wait to see it painted and back at the track!

Re: "TANGERINE" (C20 to K10) (LWB to SWB) (CST/MOD) (5.3)

Well folks the "Tangerine" build thread has officially Moved!! The thread can now be found in the forums under the 4x4 Tech and Off Roading section, then look in the 4x4 Projects and Builds section.

And in further news,,, My project will be put on hold for a while. The HOT weather has finally hit the valley and working in a shop with no a/c for forty hours a week is no fun. Working on Tangerine 16 to 24 hours on the weekend in the same shop sounds like even less fun. It's not uncommon for our valley temps to exceed 120 deg. So I think I'll take a break, put the boat in the water and let my finances re-build a little! We'll hit again this fall!

Thanks again for all the interest!! Wade

Wimp

I don't blame you one bit. It is even hotter inside a non-A/C building than it is outside where you at least get the cooling effect of the wind and can find some shade to cool off. Industrial buildings are usually fully exposed to the sun all day long and heat soak horribly staying hot well into the evening after the sun goes down. Not fun at all.

Have fun with the boat this summer.

Maybe you can talk the boss into getting some A/C for the shop

The boss just lease's the building so I doubt we'll get any a/c anytime soon!

While I'm goofing off I might make a run up to Spokane,,, maybe I can stop by and check out .45 acp and the Camaro??

Boxing?? Man you've got a lot more energy than I do!! I'm going to start working out because I need to loose at least 40 lbs. Good luck with the heat and the training!

Hey FrankieD,, Just been lay'in low while the hot weather is here. The town I live in is a seaport and is only about 750 feet above sea level. That low of elevation this far inland equals lot's of heat. If our shop had a/c I'd still be working on Tangerine, but since it doesn't I thought I'd take some time off and hit it again later.

In the mean time,, I've been hanging out with 68TT up in Spokane. We went to the Goodguy's car show and then went to see atvpro.
