Re: Well I bascially got my pad build for my building

Troy, single axle ford dump truck and yes it was alot of clay and I need a few more on the north slope

Shawn, Thanks

Joe, Thanks, it actually took weeks to get the pole set, but its all OK now

More pics as of today. Also I went and bought 24 eight foot 2 bulb florescent light fixtures and bulbs today and also a Raznor 160,000 BTU overhead natural gas heater from a guy who was tearing down a big business in north Topeka, All are working order. Lights were $300 for all and heater was $250, and its 1 year old.

Re: Well I bascially got my pad build for my building

I used a duct jack to set my trusses on my shop. That may be an option for that gable end. They are usually rated for at least 500 pounds, and should be available at most rental yards.

Re: Well I bascially got my pad build for my building

Looks like you're coming along Randy! I have a 150kBtu Reznor in my 40 x 60 and it heats it up fast. But I paid about 4 times what you did for it

Everybody starts jonesing for parts when you take on these projects. Can't you fit a truck or two inbetween for everyone?

Re: Well I bascially got my pad build for my building

DesertCat, Thanks, this is my third time building a shop, I always wish they were done after awhile

Pritch, your info was great!! Thanks

_Ogre, your right I was lucky, Thanks

David, this has me wore down, truck stuff is on back burner and actually may end up being on back burner for good in the future. The golf course deal may go through quicker than I thought it would. Be sure to stop by next time you come up, Thanks

Here are some more pics, got the concrete done today, sitting trusses Tues.

Thanks Randy

Very nice. That is going to be the perfect size where a guy could go and not be seen for weeks. And that a lot of concrete you got there.

I'm glad that worked out for you! I'm happy to help, even if it is just an idea instead of actual labor.

That's sure going to be a nice shop

Re: Well I bascially got my pad build for my building

Well we are gaining slowly, snow storm Tues, cold Wed, now snow again today, tomorrow and Sat, wow its setting us back but oh well it will get done sometime. Rod, my buddy is doing most of it, I try to help when I get off work, but he is gone by then most of the time. I decided to go with tin on inner walls and ceiling now and ended up putting 2 windows in.

Thanks David, just insulation no storage up there. We got all 4 sides done, got a bunch of snow yesterday and last night so the roof will have to wait for awhile

my thoughts exactly!

my buddy did the same technique with the treated wood below grade mixed with non treated above, way cheaper than 6x6's... how deep did you go?
