How Much Interest: 13" Big Brake Upgrade

How many would be interested in a 13" disc brake upgrade 'kit' for your truck (64~87 Chevy 1/2 ton trucks) that's a less exspensive alternative to current 'kits' & uses the more common PBR 2-piston caliper vs. a custom manufactured caliper?

Price is up in the air because the work isn't finished.... heck, the design isn't finished . But, other GM kits that offer a similar type of upgrade can be had for around $1K (*more or less depending on options) & you modify your own spindles. So the price SHOULD be close.

But . . ..... I know the development can be slow if there's not enough interest. This would be for 64~87 Chevy 1/2 ton trucks only @ this time but the possibilities can grow as the demand grows.

I've been in contact w/a manufacturer that is considering the 'further' development of a kit for Classic Chevy trucks (again, think 64 ~ 87) that is based on kits they already sell for GM cars. I state 'further' because they already know what they're doing & have some measurements/dimensions, but have not had the demand to make it more of a priority.

So I'm asking you... John Q Public, classic chevy truck owner, is there interest?

*Options range from just brackets w/instructions to 'kits' w/your choice of rotor (solid, slots, drilled); caliper (standard or upgraded PBR); pads; billet hub

That option is available on the manufacturers other GM kits, so it would be safe to say it's definitely possible. Of course, it will add to the overall cost of your kit.

This is front only. With more interest, the truck rear discs COULD possibly get bumped on the priority list as well.

Have you guys checked the prices of other 'kits'? $2000-2500.... front only. One manufacturer offer F&R kits for cheaper, but nothing for trucks & don't plan on having anything anytime soon.

This poll is to determine if it is worth pushing the development on an upgraded front kit for these trucks. I don't want to tell the guy 'yep.... lot's of interest". I WANT TO SHOW HIM THERE IS.

I'm interested. The ssbc kit is out of my range, would like a kit to fit on the spindles I already have, if that's possible? Or an affordable set that comes with drop spindles...

We 'gotta start somewhere & there's more 2wd's. Maybe this will lead to the development of other kits for 4x4's.

The more interest..... the better. I was hoping you would give some feedback & like the idea.

See if there's any interest on 73-87.com. I would have gone over & posted but I spend too much time searching the web for parts possiblities & on 67-72.com as it is.... another site & I would be a single man again.

Would be interested in a front and rear kit, just the rotors, calipers and brackets, as I would like to use Hydroboost.

Thanks
