1972 C20 Chevrolet Suburban 402
$12,000.00 or best offer.
This is a rare 1972 C20 big block Suburban with the tail gate rear doors. This truck is in excellent mechanical shape, extremely reliable and has been being used as a daily driver by my wife and kids since 2005. It is a great family vehicle but also doubles as a great vehicle for towing a trailer. Most of the trucks parts are new or were replaced or rebuilt recently using only high quality parts. This truck has 3 rows of seats from a more modern Suburban as well as shoulder belts.
Engine - rebuilt 402 big block bored .030 over with hypereutectic pistons, ARP bolts, mild towing cam with oval port heads that have been polished. Compression ratio is 9.2:1. Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, Summit racing vacuum secondary carburetor, HEI Distributor and MSD plug wires. Also has high flow water pump, AGR high volume power steering pump, and modern 12si internal voltage regulator alternator. Has external engine oil cooler, external transmission oil cooler and heavy duty 4 core radiator and new fan, fan clutch and fan shroud.
Transmission is a TH 400 rebuilt with heavy duty clutches and shift kit set up for heavy duty towing.
Differential is a Dana 60 with 3.55 gears.
Suspension was completely rebuilt using Moog, Raybestos, and Energy suspension components. Bushings are polyurethane. Addco aftermarket sway bar, Early Classic Industries front and rear springs and Early Classic Industries rear trailing arms. Trailing arms were over $500.00. Also has a new power steering gear box.
Wheels and tires. Center Line Wilderness wildcat 8 lug wheels in 17" X 9" with BF Goodrich Rugged Trail 245 70 17 load range E tires that were bought summer of 2012 and have less than 8,000 miles on them. Center caps have rust on them.
All other brake components are in excellent shape. This truck stops really well!
Installed a complete Vintage Air retrofit front A/C system a few years ago and added a Vintage Air rear A/C system last summer. The air is really cold!
Paint and body work was done 6 years ago and all body panels with rust were cut out and new sheet metal was welded in. Over $1500 just in new sheet metal installed. New door and window gaskets/seals were also installed along with a new windshield.
Other parts include New Class 5 frame mounted trailer hitch, new fuel tank, 2 1/2 in duel exhaust system with Flow Master big block series mufflers, new Alpine CD player, Autometer gages and too many other new or updated parts to list.
I hate to sell this truck but, alas, it was time for something different for the family...
