I have been thinking of doing a sidemarker fill since I don't want to cut into the bed of my truck either and it is lined as well. My initial thought was to just cut out a hold on the side of the rear panel but if I can make the sidemarker fill work then it would be a lot cleaner.

You could probably use a 2" adapter on the tank neck to help with the flow.

I had the flange machined down.
