Astronaut has a truck that looks like it should be parked on the stage at Barret Jacksons. Outstanding!

Re: how about some pics of 60-66 long beds

Hello Guys, I am new to this site and have been browising your trucks and really can appreciate the work thatgoes on in getting them pristind. This is my 65 GMC daily driver. Upgraded to front Disc Brakes, 78 Caddy Steering Column w/Tilt and ext. Took out the V/6 and put in a 391 Stroker, has a 700R4 trans. Used Chevy side moldings on the bed and can instead of the GMC Moldings. Took gas tank from behind the seat and had a 50 gallon tank made and put under the tool box. Put on a set of 2005 1 ton Silverado 8 lug wheels and 17" tires. My next project is to add Power Steering, but I may keep it manual, that way I can keep the Old Lady out from behind the wheel...

Re: how about some pics of 60-66 long beds

Thanks, I had to get the centers machined out a bit for them to fit over the hubs. The newer trucks hubs are not as large as the older trucks.

Hey nicely done, I'm interested in the fog or driving lights cut into the bumper. How were the holes cut and did you have to re-enforce behind the bumper? If you have any pic's of how it was done please post them thank you. Again nice truck...Vernski

Re: how about some pics of 60-66 long beds

Thanks, I did not take any pictures of the work I did on the bumper. I took it off and used a 3" hole saw and bore out the openings. Then I welded a 3"X1" piece of pipe inside the opening to enclose the driving lites that I used. Then i welded the L bracked to hold the lites in the opening. Grind the welds, and take it to the chrome shop, or prime them for painting. Thats a nice truck you have there, has a lot of Potential....

Nice azz ride! I like the 50 gal gas tank idea for my project...thanks! This is the first I've seen that dead space around the rear window painted, in place of installing a larger window...awesomeness! It's a winner!!

Re: how about some pics of 60-66 long beds

well there is one lucky new owner of my 66 c10. I sold it on EBAY today and I was very surprised to see the attention it received, as well as the offers for the truck after the auction ended . The one for $1800 over asking was interesting but I needed to honor my deal with the last bidder. he's going to love this truck and hopfully i can turn him on to our fourm here. Tony

Re: how about some pics of 60-66 long beds

Hey fella's! I just picked up this 63 LB. it runs and drives. Some rust in the bed, but the cab seems solid. Going to fix some safety things (lights, brakes, etc...) then drive it as often as I can!

Nice I like the plain jane look. Im going to go with the same look on my grandpas truck. I'm going to paint my wheels gloss black and already scored some nice baby moons on ebay.

Re: how about some pics of 60-66 long beds

Man, I wish all these had some stats on the amount of drop and tire sizes> I am eventually going to have a 3/4 drop and need to get some 16" tires in the next few weeks, and want to get some tires that fit well with that drop with no rubbing issues. Gonna keep it a 3/4 ton, 8 lug just to be different. Anyone have some idea of what will work? Right now, leaning toward a 245/75/16 or 225/70/16 LT tire.
