A well equipped 'spring shop' can make them for you while you wait. I had mine made here in Dallas & got to watch the press do its thing. Talk about a big machine...... this thing was huge x large. They had many different length selections for the bolts so just measure your originals & add 6" to the over-all length. I would highly recommend bringing a template of the u-bolt spacing (using the mount attached to the rear end housing as the guide). I did this to make sure they formed the u-bolt to the exact dimension needed to slip right over the axle. It sucks when you have to wrestle the bolt into place & scratch a bunch of freshly painted parts.

Thanks for the info Mike. I got the impala brackets not the camaro so I am alittle curious on the mods for that install as well.

So, if the 67-70 rears are considered 'narrow' compared to the 71-72, what's that say about you...

In hindsite (pun intended), it would have been much less abusive to you to say something like "the diff I'm using is a stock '72".

But we're soooooooooooooooooo glad you didn't say it that way.

Re: How to: Ruin a perfectly good Blazer...

Tiny progress. Got the spindles drilled out for the heims and mounted the front brakes. I'll have to do some grinding on the driver's rotor to fit my wheels. They use two different types of castings for L and R on them. The passenger's fit fine...

OK, she's back on her feet semi-permanently. I still have to tear down the rear for clean-up and paint. Here's a couple of pics at near ride height. Pretty close to where I was dumped before!

Re: How to: Ruin a perfectly good Blazer...

Where are you guys' priorities? Jeez! I hope to get it back going before spring. I'd hate for it to be sitting on jackstands during cruising season. It all depends on the kid's, momma's and finally my schedule. I'll just keep pluggin' away 'til it's done...

I'm still waiting on my %^&@($^& upper control arms.

Anyone in the Houston area ever dealt with Vettesource?
I'm having all kinds of problems getting all my stuff.

Once I get all the stuff everything will get into a rhythem and get done.

Gringo.... Drop spindles or stock? What sizes on the tires again for those in the group that might suffer from 'CRS' syndrome?

Looks good brother!
