I found that the weight split mine in pieces so I want to find some other type that will hold up to the extra weight of our hood. So once you find what works let me know will ya!

Started dorkin' w/ the rear brakes. Spent most of my time tearing everything apart and cleaning/painting. I figured it was a good time while I was in there to replace bearings/seals.

I am using Glock's brackets, but for whatever reason they are not a 'bolt-on' for me. The bolt heads for the caliper bracket hit the rotor, even after switching to the smaller diameter allen head bolts. The spacing is about 1/2" off from aligning the rotor/caliper correctly. I think my axle/flange spacing is off a little from a 2wd axle, so I will have to modify them to work for me. The last pic is just a mockup showing what they could look like...

Those don't look like the same brackets. You may have the Caprice brackets there. Those look like camaro calipers...?

Impala brackets and calipers. Looking at a pic from Ram-Man, it looks like he had the same problems I have. Note the nut between the backing plate and caliper bracket. I think I can weld nuts to the backing plate serving to both align the caliper correctly and eliminate the rotor/bolt interference. Oh well, tear it down and try again...

Nope. I've been occupied getting the bike and Sea-Doo ready to play(Yep- it's already spring in Louisiana) as well as getting the parts together and in powder to bag my pickup(Yes, I have a sickness.)

I did some trading with a boardmember(thanks Shifty

) for a mildly used ECE tubular transmission crossmember. I immediately put together plans to hack it to pieces to fit my needs. Unfortunately, ECE uses an oddball size rectangular tubing I could not find locally, so I had to wait for the stick I bought to be delivered.

I started by screwing it down to a piece of 2x6 to keep everything aligned. I then sectioned out the center, with the crossmember flipped upside-down. I made filler pieces out of the 1.5" x 2.5" .120 wall rectangular tubing. After squaring everything up, I welded and ground it smooth. Turned out pretty nice, me thinks...

This will put the tailshaft in the proper position for the Dropmember and allow me some clearance for exhaust tubing. I've got plenty of tubing left over- I think I'm gonna build one from scratch for my pickup.

Thanks! Here's a couple pics of the finished product. You can see that the transmission mounting surface is about 1" higher than stock. Also, the new crossmember does not hang below the framerails at all- the stocker hangs about 1.5" below. With that and the increased exhaust clearance, I'd say this little project is a success...

gringo, Ive got that same crossmember but its from performanceonline.com Why did you need more exhaust clearance? isn't there plenty of room to run it above the x-member? Also, why did you move the mount 1 inch up? I wasnt planning on hacking this thing up.

I belive he did it because the DropMember moves the engine up so the tranny needs to move up as well.
