Re: Help me build my rear end!!!

I'd run the 9", locker, and a 3:70 - 3:90 gear with 33 spline axles, and disc brakes. Spools are nice, but hard on parts on the street with turns, and you know you will be running it alot on the street. DJ's rear is nice, and a Great deal, but I think it might be too much for what you want to do. JMO, and we all know what they are like! Good luck on whatever way you go!

Can you get a locker for 35 splined axles? Thanks for the all input.

Yes!
If you go with a Detroit Locker you will be pleased with it.
My dad has one in his rambler! Listen to the tires squawl when the car turns!
The legendary Detroit Locker began the revolution in performance differentials and still leads the industry today as an Eaton brand.
The Detroit Locker is the most durable and dependable locking differential available. Most Drag Racers use them!

The Detroit Locker maximizes traction by delivering 100% of the torque to both drive wheels. It is engineered to keep both wheels in a constant drive mode, and has the ability to automatically allow wheel speed differentiation when required. Applications are also available for C-Clip style axles.

Re: Help me build my rear end!!!

They do make them for the Ford and the Dana 60 as well.. I did a hybrid of sorts for my truck, I used a 9 in. from a full size ford that has 11in. disc brakes. It gave me the big ford bearing ends, and disc brakes. I put them on a Dana 60 with 35 spline axles and a PowerLoc. My numbers should be similar to yours with my Procharger, and I was looking to built it once and forget about it.. Good luck on whatever you decide.

Re: Help me build my rear end!!!

I thought that a detroit locker would be the ticket for the street but if the tire still grabs when you turn then all you did was pay 3 times as much as a spool and you still have a spool. I will sell mine without a center section or just without the spool.

I also have another set of axles for a barely narrowed nine inch but they are 5 on 4.5 lug pattern. They are gun drill star flanged moser 35 spline extreme axles with bearings and 5/8 studs. I would take 500 obo and they are 750 new with everything included.

It's set up to be tight.....
She only does it on hard turns.

My factory 71/72 rear is 63.5" wide. So yours would bring it in over 3 3/8" per side. I was only looking for about an 1" to an 1.5" per side. Thanks for measuring it. I'm sure you won't have a problem getting rid of it.

I don't know if I would narrow it more. With a 12" wheel you could run a 5" Backspacing, which would be about perfect......

Re: Help me build my rear end!!!

I want to be able to swap wheels from Cades truck to my truck so I want us both to have the same width wheel. I want a 12 inch wheel on his truck with only two or three inches of backspacing. I have a 16x15 wheel I'm gonna run.
