Lookin' good. When are we going to see paint?

When you are done fabbing are you gonna break down the whole truck and paint and detail everything? You may have answered this before, but scanning back through 32 pages will make my eyes pop out =)

In that case, you may want to consider a fiberglass front end for the Tahoe-burb. That's probably a real bear to carry in and out... especially by yourself.

Well good thing you cut like a foot or two out of it, must be a ton easier to carry now.

It's cool, I've got one of those lifter's belts the warehouse guys wear

Paint? In all reality it'll probably be another year. I have a lot more mods to go

That's just pure laziness CG... Yep that's the plan.

I have a perfectly functioning OG linkage, but this is for the exhaust clearance. I'll be putting it on as soon as it gets here because I want to have it in place when I run the exhaust. Should be here this week.

Oh man, believe me, I take everything out of the glovebox before I even think about carrying it myself

I know, otherwise I would have definitely needed my girlfriend's help. And she would have given me a hard time about not doing it myself ...situation averted

Z-Bend on 4" flat stock for reference:

And after:

I was able to adjust it so the indicator is dead on in all gears. Plus as an added bonus, there's a whole lot less play now. Gotta rebuild the column to get it perfect...

That's a nice clean install too. I think I'm going to have to get one of those.

It looks like it also works for all GM transmissions, and automatic columns. Sweet!!

Did you have to make the bend to clear something? I thought it would go in as it was out of the package.

That's the Lokar TH400 adjustable kick down switch. Another great piece from them:

It's a nice product and worth the money IMO.

It would have been binding the hiems with no bend on this install. I also gave it that shape to provide more exhaust clearance. If that was not a concern you could get away with a single bend.

Do it!

I got some good shop time today. I knew the bent header extensions I picked up would only be a starting point. Here's how they looked on first install:

That was no good so I did some pie-cuts and shortening:
almost there...

Another pie cut and we're money:

Here's the routing so far:

Still need to weld in the rings but I wanted to be sure the hole positions in the TA xmember were right first. This is with the rear bags fully collapsed:

I'll probably have to clearance that floor brace a bit:

Man, that's clean.

Just proof you can do damn near anything yourself if you have the time, patience, and the will to learn.

I know you've heard this alot, but, you're an inspiration to us all man. Thank you.

Thanks mike.

So, you have a cnotch also right? You went OVER the trailing arms.. I thought that when you aired out all the way, the exhaust would hit.. Guess not.

Thanks for the pic man...
