Those parts must mean more now that they came from making a sacrifice like that rather than just a cash buy, they are definitely well deserved. I imagine I wont be making much progress until fall/early winter now. A dually conversion would be sweet, the only gmc cummins swap I seen close up in real life was a friend Denny's truck(bought from Ryan Bambach) : '89 gmc crew cab dually with a BAD ARSE 12valve in it. Denny now swapped the 12valve and put this engine in his drag truck, he daily drives this dually around. The hood stack is awesome riding shotgun, If I find a link ill post his truck. I hope this gives your some inspiration to one day build a dually converted chev/gmc maybe just not this intense lol

Hahahaha that video is great!! I remember going to pulls with my friends in Knoxville, it seemed like it was always the cummins swapped into a ford or a chevy that won.. lol never a dodge!

Re: Rusbuilt's 68 C-10

Ok had some time to spend on the truck this afternoon... I got it back down on the ground, I still need to make my shock relocation brackets and install new brake lines and shoes and wheel cylinders.. but it rolls and I made progress so I'm happy.

I posted some questions on my rear suspension here. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=528659 Post 11 is some pictures from a guy that made his own if you need some ideas on your shock relocator brackets.

Re: Rusbuilt's 68 C-10

do you have the link for this whole setup? I'd love to do individual company stuff (Wilwood, Hotchkis, etc.) but if it's decent to do and they do the whole setup that would make it painless

Re: Rusbuilt's 68 C-10

I did have to buy a deluxe rear end kit also because I was converting mine to 5 lug and I was using a leaf spring rear end so I needed custom perches to weld on to accept trailing arms. One thing the kit did not come with that I wish it did was a shock relocation kit.

Re: Rusbuilt's 68 C-10

I assume those are just mock up pictures?
I don't see any welds on those axle saddles.
Make sure you check the pinion angle prior to welding.

Oh yes, just mock up. I have to check my pinion angle and tack weld my perches to the axle, then pull it back apart and weld it up!

Will do.. Unfortunately I have come down with a virus and I can't hardly move. Which sucks because I am going to miss the show this weekend.

Re: Rusbuilt's 68 C-10

Not to rub it in but the show was great!!! Maybe next year or there is a cruise in every friday in the boro. I got my 69 going well enough to make the 160 mile round trip. It was by far not the nicest there, but it was mine and it made it there and back!! I can't wait to see your ride in person some day.

Thanks man we will have to work that out someday.. There is nothing worse than being sick like this, I HATE feeling useless and right now I know I'm pretty worthless. I'm glad there was a good turnout just sad I missed it. I actually bought my truck from a guy in White House believe it or not, I was really hopping that my trucks first show would be where I pulled her out of the bushes.. AHhhh o-well..
