How wide of a trailer do I need to carry one?

Funny title, I know. What’s the minimum distance between trailer fenders required to load a 60-66? I’m kinda trailer shopping and I don’t have a truck to measure (the trailer should solve that problem&#128556.
And I’m guessing a 60-62 half ton 2WD long bed with the 235 and SM420 missing its bed wood and half of its lug nuts ( offset by about 100 wasp nests) weighs about 4200 lbs. Am I close?
Thanks!

Not sure on the width of the truck right now. My car trailer i think is 84" wide between the fenders and my 61 and 62 fit easily. I don't think they weigh that much. My 62 c30 with a 9 foot flatbed with me in it weighed around 5,000.

Hey thanks for the reply. I’m playing it safe and getting a trailer that’s almost 7’ wide at the fenders.

It shouldn't weigh that much, the factory lists a base '66 short/fleet 2wd at around 33-3400 lbs. X frame trucks might be a bit more.

I’ll find out soon enough. I’m in oregon and the ODOT leaves the scales on when they are closed so you can just pull in and get your weights.
I’m guessing 3950lbs.

I’m replying so if anyone searches in the future it may help them.
Per my figuring and a few trips across 3 different ODOT scales, my truck weighs between 3900 and 3950 lbs. Thats with all the bed wood( though dry as a bone) and it’s a pretty complete truck, with 5 OG split rims and tires and about 10 lbs of bondo.
Thanks everyone

Trailer axles are rated for the gross weight -- combined weight of the trailer plus the weight of the load.. If you get a trailer with axles rated at 4K lbs., it will be too "light weight" for your purpose. Trailer axles rated at 7K lbs. will be better suited for your needs.
