CLR wash on my 52

I have been reading up on this for a while.. I plan to give it a try on my 52 1/2 ton. Most posts state to use CLR with a green scotch brite pad.. Are they referring to a 3m abrasive pad (synthetic steel wool) like you would pick up at the body shop supply store or a 3m pad that you would find with the sponges at Target? thanks in advance for your help..

Re: CLR wash on my 52

Not the sponge. An actual abrasive pad. Green is just relatively soft. The colors denote how coarse the pads are.

Re: CLR wash on my 52

Use a grey scuff pad or 000 steel wool. Green pads are too aggressive and will scratch the paint way more than needed.
