Rear barn door PAWL???

The inside of the rear door locking mechanism on my 72 suburban is missing the little "L" shaped piece that moves up and down when you turn the key to actually lock and unlock the door. It attaches to the back of the key cylinder with a little clip i think. I believe it to be a bigger piece than the same one for the other (front) doors. What is this piece called and do any of you have a parts truck you could hook me up with this part. I can lock all doors except the back and cant find this part.

Thanks for the help

David

Re: Rear barn door PAWL???

I have one for you. I will try and remove it this week and it is small enough it hopefully can go in the regular mail, in an envelope. Otherwise I have to take it down across the border and that is an hour from here. Send me your address etc..

It looks like "Fuel Injection" from a Corvette?

The "Chevrolet" emblem on the new suburbans is very similar to our year, although it is a stick on.

Re: Rear barn door PAWL???

Since I installed the throttle body I thought it would be neat to put a "Fuel Injection" logo on the truck.....the nicest script i could find was indeed the early Corvette logo. I did have to drill 3 holes. I think it looks good and it gets a lot of comments!!!!

Re: Rear barn door PAWL???

Rob, do you have a pic of the stick-on emblem you're talking about? The newer Suburban models I found pics of (2006/2007) have emblems that say "Suburban" rather than "Chevrolet".

Re: Rear barn door PAWL???

Top picture is original 67-72 suburban emblem.
Next picture is from my 2003 suburban.
Bottom pictures is of both. Not exact, but pretty close. I have seen similar emblems on some new Chevrolet vehicles.

Re: Rear barn door PAWL???

It took me forever to find it. I can't believe somebody doesn't make an aftermarket one. I guess there isn't enough demand.
