Recycling old trophies?

Well every year my wife does spring cleaning and I'm really not a trophy guy so they just collect dust . But I have tried to donate them to different clubs and organizations and get the same "No thanks" I even tried the BSA for their pinewood durby trophies . Seems they all want $ 100 or more donation for a trophy in your name that cost 20 bucks. I actually ask not to be judged and still get one. These are from 2019

Anybody know of an organization that may take them? Because they are going to the dump next week

Re: Recycling old trophies?

Donate them to a thrift shop, Goodwill, Amvets, or other. I sold all but two special ones of mine at a flea market for a dollar or two each. I haven't put anything in a show for about 20 years. The two I saved are from Harley shows and are made from chromed Harley parts, a pair of rods & pistons and a camshaft welded to a transmission gear.

Rides her own bike did a cross country with me in 2017 . We could pack up our tent and gear in less than 10 minutes.

I have a couple from the '60's & '70's out in the shop. The first ones I ever won with the '36 Ford Coupe. I also have a "Peoples Choice" from the late '70's That is a huge hand made wooden one with a hand made brass Model "T" radiator inside. I will have to see if I can find a picture of it. I am not a big trophy guy either, that is why I don't do shows, just cruise nights.

Nice gesture Mark....

I did.

But I don't think she'll mind these kind of trophies. She only gets mad at the ones that talk to me. She doesn't like them at all. And she'll tell them so. She's not shy and she doesn't like women flirting with me. (I like it) I can't believe that they still do it. I'm old.

Once we get old enough, the pretty young girls figure we're safe to flirt with (if they notice us at all ). If you start moving in they start comparing you to dad. "My dad says stuff like that"... giggle giggle blinky blink.

I guess... I just never got this much attention when I was young. It's weird.

Even my wife tried to give me the brush off when I met her. She probably should have stayed with that plan because she's been stuck with me for going on ten years now. Poor girl.

Re: Recycling old trophies?

I know what you mean about now that we are older. I was simply offering one possible explanation. It's not that it's unusual for younger women to find older men sexy. All we hear about is older guys going after younger woman, those pigs! Well, how can that work without younger women wanting older men? They say women are more open with their feelings. Not so much when it comes to this stuff. It's men being more open in this case. Guys get caught looking, they whistle, and flirt. Women look, too, but they are very careful about getting caught. I mean, how unbecoming of a lady is that? No, I'm not asking you because I know your answer, same as mine. But it's those stigmas that are engrained in them by their mothers. Dads? "Son, check her out. There's a good one for ya!"

Re: Recycling old trophies?

I used to do the show circuits years ago and had accumulated a modest collection. I saved out the several that were important to me, but for most of them I cut off the plaque that was on the trophy, glued a magnet to the back, and put the plague on my flammable locker. Gave the hardware back to a local trophy maker so that some group could get a cheaper rate by only paying for the engraving.

But I think they'll look cool in my already cluttered office. I like trophies. I just have to make some room.

And the can of Vienna Sausages is an inside joke. I hated them as a kid. My mother would make me eat them. So my wife bought me that can. And I'm still not eating them.

And why does my door look broken in that picture? It looks like the cops just kicked it in.
