71 blazer I just bought

Just wanted to show off my new blazer!! I bought it from the second owner. He had it sitting in a barn for the last 15 years. Went Sunday to get it running again. He'd driven it in there. A battery, fuel pump and gas and it fired right up. Sure wish I'd taken some before pics. I drove it home and stopped by the car wash. Still has original paint that cleaned up pretty nice. My plans for now are wheels and tires and mainly just clean it up. Here's some pics

Re: 71 blazer I just bought

Thanks for the compliments guys. It is very near rust free. One of the cleanest originals I've seen. I am wanting to run steelies on it. I can't seem to post more than one pic at a time from my phone.

Re: 71 blazer I just bought

I got it from an older gentleman here in town. I bought his project truck and entire parts stash a year and a half ago and was finally able to afford to go back and get the jewel I really wanted from the start!!! I got this with it...

Thumbs up Re: 71 blazer I just bought

What a great survivor! This thing even has the original paint on the t/g. Also nice to get a set of NOS trim with any purchase. Any pics of the engine compartment?

Nice find. Steelies will look great on them. Get the buffer out and you can make that paint look almost new. I buff the original paint on mine out once a year and people think I've just come from the paint shop.
