Thanks. Yes they are very solid and for a Canada truck. The truck started life as a fire truck so I'm sure that helped.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Well over the weekend a good friend of mine came over to help/do some body work. Even tho I'm not painting with color there are still some spots to fix. Door handles, cowl, A pillar. Then we are spraying epoxy primer like it has then scuffing everything. I am loading the truck on the trailer thurs and taking it over to my friends work where we are spraying it all Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Yesterday I picked up my alternator 130A. Had them put in a "W" wire for a tack signal to run the diesel tack I bought.
Also we are almost done with body work sprayed some epoxy primer on the patches. Tonight we scuff the new paint and its ready.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Well a huge step forward the truck is painted
Friday after working 8hr I loaded the truck and took it to my friend Joe's work to get the party started. We hung all the parts in the booth and clear sprayed. Then got the cab masked for interior paint. The plan was to use 1980 gmc charcoal gray but the mixer machine messed up and made this color I am calling burnt root beer. After 9hrs we called it a night. @2:00am

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Sat got to the shop at 9:00am to look at our work. Wow that is very semi gloss for flat clear. It turns out you have to mix the crap out of this stuff like home depo does when you buy paint. But we decided we like the contrast. The inside of the fenders got undercoating then clear coat.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Then onto the cab. Cab, hood and grill. They would be flat. The sun really shows the color of the interior. So Saturday was a 10hr day when we left it was all painted. Then Sunday we went to pick it up and bring it home.

Thank you everybody. It was a ton of work, but I am very happy with it. My friend Joe is very good with body work and I learnt a lot from him.

Thanks. He is a good friend, he helped me with getting the motor running and most of the paint stuff. I think he is a jedi master with body work but he will say otherwise. I also bounce ideas off him when we hang out.

It's nice when a mistake works out better than the original plan.
