Re: Let's see your homemade crafts!

Funny thing happened, the stereo equipment I bought in my twenties is now called vintage. So I had to come up with a vintage way to store it, plus it keeps the girlfriend happier this way.

Re: Let's see your homemade crafts!

Very nice!! Did you design it too? Very cool!
(Umm, if you bought the outfit when you were in your 20's and the stereo set has become vintage, I suspect the cabinet maker's warranty has expired too!)

Re: Let's see your homemade crafts!

Yes the cabinetmaker's warranty has expired. Thanks for the complement. I did design it. The wood pieces are attached to a steel frame work. The hardest part was the hinges for the top as I didn't leave myself enough room for any standard hinges. After three sets of hinge modifications that didn't pan out I was successful.

That is a very nice looking cabinet! I like the detail with the additional wood pieces in the corner.

Re: Let's see your homemade crafts!

Thanks, I was going for an Art Deco look so it would look right in our 1920's house.

Re: Let's see your homemade crafts!

My Smoker Q! (Smoker/BBQ) Cost a total of $175. Used almond oil barrels I cut a 1/3rd out of the bottom fire barrel, trailer I picked up used for $125, 4" stacks where free, side truck box was free, handle is from a casket, rest of steel I had laying around. Can be used as a smoker, charcoal bbq or wood fired oven.
1st chicken over charcoal
3rd pic is 4/ 9lb pork roasts smoked for 9 hrs with apple wood
last pic is 16lb turkey takes 2.5hrs wood oven

Re: Let's see your homemade crafts!

This is my 18' camper/cargo/snowmobile trailer I made 6 years ago. It started life as a 18' boat trailer that I made to have a flat floor. Originally built to be a aerodynamic snowmobile trailer that fits 2 sleds. It has evolved more into a camper that sleeps 4 and a dog. The rear bed is a queen pullout couch frame and the bunks are wood with 3" foam, all fold up to the walls. It has batteries that will run it for a weekend, with a 25W solar panel. Running cold water, stereo, 19" tv, L.E.D. lights, 1750W inverter, built in 10A battery charger when we have power. The rear door opens up and has a screen from a gazebo that covers the opening. The sides and roof are aluminum sheeting used on transport trailers. The empty trailer weighs about 1300lb and still fits 2 snowmobiles or 2 quads. Pulls like a dream.

Thumbs up Re: Let's see your homemade crafts!

That works! I had a 20' enclosed trailer that I used as a camper but didn't have water. I just slept on a queen air mastress.
I did have AC/Heater though.

It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

All by hand with a Dewalt Scroll saw. Something I've done a lot of over the years. I made a bunch of trophies for a model boat club in San Diego over the summer. Make a little money here & there. Keeps me busy.

Re: Let's see your homemade crafts!

The weather has turned and the WMB's motor has expired I going to be doing some carpentry inside for a while. I thought I would post some photos and bring the thread up to the top. This is a banister I am building for my house. I hope you enjoy.

Thank you. But its not near as impressive as Ken O's scroll work. That man is a true craftsman and an artist.

Re: Let's see your homemade crafts!

Two months ago I delivered my last double bass, repaired, modified and pinstriped.
It came out well, customer was very happy with it.
After seeing it, it was quiet for about three minutes, then he only said: Bizarre!!
