I got a tool today from my good friend who has been a auto mechanic since late 50's. He worked for Pontiac, Chevy and Buick dealers for several years before he went out on his own.

He gave me this tool he said came in on a new vehicle at the Chevy dealership when he worked there. Only production line people had these he said.
He told me what it was for and I have never seen one. Just thought I'd share it. I'll give ya'll a day are so to guess at what it is.
Some of you older guy's may know what it is.

Door pin switch compressor. Holds the pin switch in while you work with the drivers door open and key in ignition.

Left handed gismo for right side thingamagigger and also can be used for checking blinker fluid !!!!!!!!!!!!

XYZ remover. Did I get half right? Seems like it removes tacks or rivets or something, wedge it under the head and squeeze.

I can't believe none of you know what this tool is. And you call yourselves GM Guys. Sheesh! I'd say what it is, but I don't want to spoil the fun for Andy. If anyone does know for sure like me, but is like me and doesn't want to spoil the fun, shoot me a PM with your answer if you want to make sure you're right and just to enjoy being so smart like me

Looks like something to hold a nut back behind some panel so you can start a bolt through it from the outside. Once started on the threads the nut probably slips into a slot on the panel so it won't turn and you can tighten the bolt.

GM seems to really like this arrangement, so years later you remove the bolt and the nut falls out and you can't get it back together again.

=-) If its a production line only tool, or one of those specialty items in the snap-on catalog you look at only once after you look up the price, I'd be inclined to forget.

This tool wasn't available to the general public. Back then anyway. I'll give the answer tomorrow. I'm surprised by the answers! I figured somebody would know.
My dad is 30+ years with Chevy but has been retired over 40 years and 96 years old, he had never seen one either.

I was thinking along the same lines.
I was going to bs my premise by saying something goofy like it was manufactured by Vangaurd or some other company like Williams.

OK I have no Idea what that tool is but will follow here to find out , but for me more importantly is never new Willams is a divison of Snap on,Now I no why the only 1/2 drive rachet I have never broke is my old trusty Willams rachet , and I have stripped the gears in plenty othes even snapped a few breaker bars .not trying to hi jack the thread here .

It sucks not being able to hear! LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB! After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
