white roof no cab trim

Looking for some examples of white cab roof without the dividing trim. Trying to see how others may have worked around the lack of trim. My truck has no moldings/trim and I would like to paint roof white when I paint it.

I just went thru this when I painted my 68. The line where the two colors touched looked terrible so this past weekend my painter taped off a 1/4" area and we bagged the whole truck so we could shoot a new stripe in this area. I didn't want to drill holes and install the trim either.

Not perfect, but that's how I did it.

That turned out nice cooper.

In my opinion white vans are a signature of this era really sets them off

I would think even some of the wide pin striping material would do the trick too

Thanks. I agree, the white roof cap sets these trucks off. I would have gone with a nice pin stripe but there was a little bugger over an 1/8" wide so I elected to do the 1/4" stripe. I think I would have liked it a little better if it would have been thinner and possibly a little lighter?

Here's how I ran it....totally winged it. Thinking a red pinstripe may be in order once the hellish wet sanding is done.

That looks good. I also wanted just a pinstripe, but needed a little wider.

Re: white roof no cab trim

I do have the advantage of a short headache rack to confuse the eye across the back...leaving just the cab radii on either side but I think I'd do it again this way. Appreciate the compliment and good luck.

Just wing it!
