Probably not that bad, but if I don't find a SWB chassis to swap everything over to, who knows.......

I haven't seen any 50th's with a big block either. The front of the frame has been hit pretty good, so I think I'm going to swap everything over to a short bed chassis and build a 50th BB SWB......

Re: Question on 50th production numbers..

I was searching for some info on how to identify a 50th and ran across a couple that were said to be 396/402 50th's. Didn't see any numbers on how many were made or anything though.

Re: Question on 50th production numbers..

I saw a 50th SWB 396 at Pomona about a year ago. It was complete....but very very rough, and looked like it hadn't run in years. I caught it at the end on my way out, sitting on a trailer. It had A/C, buddy buckets, P.S., etc. Dude wanted $9000 for it

no 402 in 68... only 396.
stillookin up in washington, he has a big block 50th longhorn... I'm thinking a one ton. Either one would be pretty dam rare. (1902 C/20 longhorns made, and only 213 C/30 longhorns in 68)

Re: Question on 50th production numbers..

My crazy plan is starting to fall into place. Here's some pictures of what I picked up over the weekend, a complete 71 402/TH400. All I need now is a short bed frame........

Thanks. I still have another cab and doors that I'm supposed to pick up this week. It's a 69 CST a/c cab. I'll send you pictures when I get it.

, this is not going to be a ground up. It'm just going to throw the parts I have gathered up together for a nice "shop truck", .

Roger that! I'm picking up a short bed chassis sometime this week and I plan on starting the cab swap, then the motor swap and finally, shortening the bed. I've got to have all this done in about 7 weeks......

Re: Question on 50th production numbers..

Somewhere in my stash i found a 50th Longhorn with a 396 big block forsale. I have pics and as soon as i find them, i will post them. Unless one of the older board members maybe kept those. I'd say that was back in 99 or 00 i saw that truck. If i recall correctly a board member at the time bought it up.
