Re: new burb owner

Door bottoms, rockers, passenger front fender under battery, are all rot free. Has been taken care of, has just some dings and alittle rot behind one of the rear tires and a couple of holes in the bottom of the clamshell top, and some surface rust here and there.

Who sell replacement a/c ducting for the vents in the roof? These are all broken and gaped down but a/c works.

Re: new burb owner

Congrats on your new burb, and welcome to the burb family!

As far as your Q about the rear air ducting, I am guessing that it will require some fab work. Rear air is one of the options that has very little after market parts from what I've seen.

Re: new burb owner

actually, that should be the tunnel type a/c, not the rear air unit. I think rear air was 72 only.
that does look like a decent truck there, some elbow grease and a few more rally wheels with some silver paint would make it look a whole lot better.

Is that what it is called "tunnel a/c"? It goes from the back to the front and it broken loose and brittle.

Good Score! I wasn't able to make it to Goodguys, but a friend of mine went and said that the 67-72 burbs were out in force! So what are your plans for it?

Going to lower it, either rally wheels or 18/20's. Probably update the engine tranny to fuel inj and overdrive.

Re: new burb owner

about the a/c vents:

look in the aftermarket. between vintage, oldair, etc., there is a great variety of vents that can be purchased and probably used.

I did this on another project, found some rectangular vents that were a good match for the old and missing, a little bit of craftsmanship and they looked sweet.

Re: new burb owner

Thanks yall,
This is going to be more fun for the family than my 68 truck, everybody can get in and have room. We can make the long shows and I plan on pulling my 68 to the track with it.

Re: new burb owner

maybe lower the nose, but don't mess with the back if you are gonna tow with it. a disc brake front end would be a very good idea while you have the upgrading bug. nothing more practical than good brakes!

Re: new burb owner

I got to get some new pics.

I put a tbi 350 and 700r4, disc brake front swap from a 87 burb, and 5 hole rear. I lowered it the cheapo way just to get an idea, I am going to bag it later. Also me and the kids waxed the green paint and made it look alot better.

Looks very straight and rust free (minimum). Great find and good luck. Good to see another old burb on the road again.
