LT1 Accessory Bracket

I am in the process of cleaning up an LT1 and 4L60E transmission from a 96 Trans-am for installation in my 52 Chevy truck. I am using all the trans-am stuff I can. I am sure some of you have run into the issue of the AC mounting location. This is not going to be a show truck and I don't want to spend $1000 plus for a new accessory mounting system. I do however want to retain the ac, pwr steering, etc. Has anyone made their own brackets to relocate the AC or have recommendations on a better alternative? I have seen this set up advertised; www.bowersrodshop.com to relocate the AC compressor, what do you think. What have the rest of you done to correct this on these AD trucks?

Haven't made it that far on my project yet. It does look like that'll work for you though. Kinda proud of it aren't they? I guess it's one of those specialty 'niche" items that can command a bigger price. I'd shop around some more though. There's bound to be a more cost effective solution...that looks as good, if not better.

Everyone seems be real proud of their bracket kits. Hoping I can find someone that has done their own and pass the info along. I am hoping to trial fit the motor/trans over the weekend and see just how hard it is. If its not to bad I may try to notch the frame.

3100 Special; been following your thread. I am about where you are, got the ifs welded in, looking at rear suspension, etc. I am moving rather slow though, not enough time and money. I have tried to access your link but not been successful. I use to go to the hotrodders board all the time but haven’t been able to access it since around the first of the year. Your project seems to be moving along well and looks like you will have a good looking ride when you are finished.

Just got a digital camera but not played with it yet. Will try to get some pictures up as soon as I figure it out.

Alan Grove has a nice set for about half the price of the others. They're made out of steel instead of Aluminum.

Strange. I just hit the link and went right to it. Must be something else going on. You answered my next question...pictures. Let us know when you get something out there. I'd like to see them. I like the Journal over there because I can upload full size photos. I don't have to crunch them down.
