Started on the raised bed floor. 1x1 square tubing
 Also made a flip down door for behind the tailgate. The accuair vu4 manifold and harness will be behind the air tanks so access will be easy with the door. Im also gonna make a "hatch" door in the bedfloor above the air tanks where the large opening is so everything is very accessable

damn... I love this thread.
I think I could spend hours looking at your welds lol I weld MIG and TIG...sometimes come out well, sometimes look ****. Need to practice loads more to get to where you are. keep those photos coming!

Photobucket was being tempermental lately but heres the progress
Had to slice the bedfloor in half to get it out of the truck to totally finish weld it. No pics of it finished, but its all welded back in for good now  Fabbed up some rear shock mounts  Upper shock studs  And a pic with the shocks installed  I had originally planned to mount the vu4 between the air tanks but changed plans. I made this bracket and utilized three factory hole in the rear crossmember to mount it    Also decided to run some bulkheads to hide the airlines through the framerails     Then i moved onto the rust to fix the rear horns      And last but not least added a few more fish plates today. My welder was being a pain in the rear, just a bad day i guess, wire kept jamming so i couldnt run a constant bead on the whole thing. Ill dress some spots with a grinder before paint

In regards to your steering shaft: could you get away with using a single shaft from rack to column?

Gringo, the upper a arm becomes a clearance issue at full drop when i tried to mock up a single shaft from rack to column

Well guys back at it. I fabbed up some perches on the frame rails for front bed mounts. The stock rear mounts are still utilized. Heres some pics of the perches, i didnt get pics of the mount structure tied into the raised bed floor. Ill get those pics tomorrow
  Then we rolled the truck out and got a look at it with all the sheetmetal mocked up finally. Super pumped with how its turning out

Heres some pics of the fromt bed mount structure. Bolts need to be trimmed
  The original wheel tubs in the bed were shot so my buddy ordered a new pair. As you can see in these pics they were a tad tall due to the raised bed floor haha   Sectioned them 4 inches. Tacked up with the mig    After i tacked them with the mig i decided to give the tig a try. I bought a 210 syncrowave and am just teaching myself tig. This is my second time welding sheetmetal and my first full panel ive attempted to tig   I should be able to body work it a tad more and get away with no filler at all. Im pretty pumped |

My buddy installed the porterbuilt gas assist hinges he ordered. I still need to weld the bracket to the underside of the hood
 The bed wheel wells are about 99% done. Im pretty pleased with how they look bare metal for my first time tig welding an entire panel. Should be able to get by with some high build primer and no filler

Yea its much nicer than mig. The ability to hammer and dolly a tig weld makes the finished product so much nicer

Johnny im using 3/32" 2% lanthanated tungsten. Im new to this so im no expert. Check out jody on youtube, weldingtipsandtricks channel. He swears by the 2% lanthanated for most all applications. At least any application we would ever need. I was running around 55 amps max for the 16ga wheel wells but your foot controller will help you dial it back when needed

Got the hood on and shimmed up right with the porterbuilt gas assist hinges. I gotta say for the price my buddy payed for these hinges the stainless hardware left a lot to be desired. Pretty poor quality. We switched everything to grade 8 hardware
 Whipped up this battery tray out of some angle iron and flat stock  And mounted it on the core support
