Teenage Dream 68 Chevy RHD

heres my newest project i picked it up a while back for nothing and it got put on the back burner for a while. it started life as a 68 gmc with a 305 v6 im slowly working to make it into a chevy. i recently started to convert it over to rhd. im looking to go full porterbuilt on the truck with a cad 472 and possibly a manual trans i cant really decide if i want to go green or red but i have narrowed it down to those two any ways heres my progress for now. let me know what you guys think
how i found it

after a grille swap

started rust repairs

recovered the seat

and then the fun began!

heres my other truck (still not done)

heres the build thread http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=517537

Re: Teenage Dream 68 Chevy RHD

I wonder if you could swap the ign switch for the cig lighter to make the conversion look like it would have come that way? Amazing work so far.

Re: Teenage Dream 68 Chevy RHD

Just curious,... what is the appeal of a RH drive truck?
I never understood it with mini trucks.
Just to be different?

LOVE your green truck!!!

Re: Teenage Dream 68 Chevy RHD

I wanted to have a rhd vehicle since I was pretty young and I'm not sure why I just like that its different. that's mostly what I'm going for I love it when my truck stands out from the crowd but that's quite easy in this lifted diesel hill Billy town ha! And thank you I'm very happy with the green truck

Re: Teenage Dream 68 Chevy RHD

I too have always wanted a RHD and I don't really know why either. Maybe on my next project which will hopefully be a 32 Ford roadster. Looking great!!! Keep pictures coming, we love them

Re: Teenage Dream 68 Chevy RHD

Great work. Obviously it is personal preference, but I too prefer the Chevrolet look to the GMC. I think I figured it out too (at least why my eye sees the Chevy as more appealing). I'm used to making eye contact with people that have two eyes. As a red blooded guy, I'm used to seeing women that have two, well... You get my point lol. Anyway, great job.

Love your green truck. Been meaning to ask what wax you use to make it shine so well, or is that clear coat? I recently used Zymol wax cleaner on my patina truck, and it worked great, but I'm curious what you've used.

We missed you at our truck get together in Salt Lake.

Nice ride. All the best with the RHD conversion mate.

As an owner of a factory RHD truck, if you ever need measurements or info of any kind, I'm more than willing to help were I can.

Good luck!

Re: Teenage Dream 68 Chevy RHD

i got the other cab corner done and fixed the first one. i learned the hard way not to do them without doors on but it was a quick fix. i do have to section the rockers though as they dont fit too good to the doors. now i get to learn how to work my hammers and dollies while i wait on porter built

Your green Chevy is bad!! In a good way of course! I like the gmc and Chevy fronts so it's fine whichever you choose. Gonna be sweet when it's sitting on the floor

Re: Teenage Dream 68 Chevy RHD

Porterbuilt is leaving the rack mounts for me to install with whatever rhd rack I end up with so it will just be a little work on my end to find and fit a rack
