Re: Finally my own build thread!

that suspension looks realy nice , it doesnt seem to ad anything to the amount of up down movement or the total height above the bed though , it is however sumtin i might look intoo cause i like to have everything under a flat floor , i prolly will turn it 90 degrees and have it run forwarth next to the frame that way i can make the rod realy short and the lever closer to the axle because it doesnt need to go over the chassis then

Re: Finally my own build thread!

Well i got a little more done on the truck. I finished the raised bed floor. It is ready for the wood. I can't wait to see it with the wood installed. The center section is open so the shockwaves will stick above the bed. It was either raise the bed floor even more or let them stick out. I think it will look kind of cool though. I also picked up some of these bad a$$ tube clamps that i am going to use for my tranny mount. That way it can be removable but not have more brackets hanging off the frame. I got enough of those already. These tube clamps are so sweet. They lock together really snug but the funny part is that they are so easy to split aparts. Very well built. They also have two allens that lock the joint together. I was excited and had to show some pics. By next week I should have some more updated pics.

The tube brakets came from Summit Machine.com. They were only about $35 each.

Thanks Hart Rod!! Sounds like a plan! Just a head up though there might be a "material cost" increase just about the same time you hit the lotto.

Re: Finally my own build thread!

Bumping this thread!

This is my first post on the forum. I'm currently building a 62 Bel Air 2 Door Post car. YahYah wrong forum right Dont worry I just came from building trucks, this is my first car.

I found this Forum though looking Up pictures of Foose wheels through a google image search. I came across a picture of Joshs truck. I see that he got the wheels Powdercoated and wanted to find out who did them for him.

Anyway I hope he checks on his thread.

Couple pic of my 62

Re: Finally my own build thread!

Your Ride Is Looking Great. What You Are Doing Is My Favorite Part Of A Build. The Fabing. I Own A Body Shop. I Guess That Is Why The Body And Paint Gets Old Sometimes. I Almost Lose Intrust In A Project When It Comes To The Body And Paint. Especialy The Paint I Have Never Cared For The Paint Much. I Like What You Are Doing Alot.

Your Bed Frame Reminds Me Of The Floor That I Built For My 72' Step Bed. Except I Put Expanded Metal That Has Been Bed Lined In My Floor So The Mud And Water Will Go Through... It Just Holds The Bud Light Cans In.

Yeah i have been a little side tracked this last few weeks. I have been trying to go to the lake as much as i can since most of the summer i have been working on my truck and it is almost over. Are you a mastercraft fan? I have always wanted one and last year i decided to bite the bullet and buy one. Its an 06 MC X15. If you ever come over to california we can hit up the lake! So when i haven't been to the lake i was building a wedding gift for my wifes best friend. They didn't have a table since there roomate moved out so i decided to build them one. I have never built a table before so it took me a little longer than expected. I just finished it yesterday and delivered it so now i can get back on my truck.

Today when i got home I found a few boxes sitting in my driveway. My new tig welder came finally. I bought a Miller Dynasty 200dx with both foot and finger controls. I also got the miller coolmate 3 and a watercooled torch with 25' leads to go with it. So tomorrow i am going to order all of my exhuast tubing to make the headers and run my exhaust. Hopefully next weekend I can start building again. Anyways here are some pics of the table and the new welder. (

Hey Man! Long time no talk! Yeah i got an itch and design idea in my head and built a whole new frame. I wasn't happy with the old way the 4 link was mounted and a few other things. I have issues. Yeah no worries on my design ideas. Talk to you later.

Re: Finally my own build thread!

FINALLY PROGRESS!!!!!! I got my gas tank bent, welded and installed. Well almost I still have to weld on the top piece but i have to wait for parts to finish it completely. I went a little different on the install. Instead of just bending some alluminum and making an "L" bracket i decided to take 1 3/8 solid round steel, alluminum and make my mounting pieces from that. The steel piece is welded to the frame and then the alluminum piece on the end is welded to the tank. It has been tapped and helicoil's were installed to give a little extra strength but I didn't drill all the way through. So it is still sealed from the inside of the tank. I put nylon washers inbetween because after everything is powdercoated I didn't want to chip anything getting it installed and since i machined some spacers it makes it really easy to install. Let me know what you think. I wanted to be different but still have it clean looking.

I also got all of my parts to build the headers and exhuast and my v-band clamps came today so tomorrow i can start that job. Anyways here are some pics.
