She wanted $125 for it (72 Chevy Truck)

anyways before Christmas ,,and then she found out the guy bagged on her..so here I come along and offer $80..

Body is in good shape and the hood didn't open ,,even if I wanted to use jumper cables ,,so I pushed it and it and it doesn't run ..but,,I knew that pretty much going in...not a bad looking ol truck ,,paint is different as it's black with orange mostly ..
.Shes having to move out soon ,,she told me that her pardner of 25 years left her and she needs the money,,and that the women that left her is treating her mean and she needs to get rid a lot in a hurry,,, house is in forecloser to boot ,,,,so the chair in the bed and a empty beer keg,,, and a older Barbeque I just figured I would just take on home with me ..what the heck right? I sorta wanted to get away soon anyway ..I think maybe I heard the wife calling..lol

So when I went to pay her for it she said ,,she only wanted $75 ,,so,,,,,,, thats what I paid and brought it home.. took the stuff out of the truck bed today and thought I would just shelve it for now and wait a few days and then really look it over and see why such a good deal..or was it a good deal? lol

Weird or what?

Re: She wanted $125 for it (72 Chevy Truck)

This is a true story ,,didn't make it up,,it just came about as I went to the womens house to look at her truck and she shared all this with me ..( I guess I am a person who people want to share their problems with) and I believe many on here know me well enough to vouch for me telling it truthful.. as for pictures ,,my camera has a shutter problem and wont open,, just thought that this purchase was so unusal that it would make for an interesting discussion that maybe others have had when buying a truck..
Now ,,I got to admit ,,my story has a twist to it,,and again some folks on here has wittnessed a story or two before like mine ,,...so either stay with me on this or never learn the rest of the story.. LOL ....I gotta say ,,don't blame you for doubting it. though. Now,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Any questions ? :-)

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: She wanted $125 for it (72 Chevy Truck)

Fish story huh? ,,,Trolling ?? Dang,, ,,wish I had a working camera... I ask for it didnt I ? LOL I opened the door of the truck today and turned the steeing wheel and the front tires turned with it ..but feels sorta like flat tires ,,maybe need the motor running for the power steering ,,you think? ,,.. I also got down underneath it and looked up to see if maybe the latch to the hood is broken and find the reason the hood wont open ,,but it's not visiable enough to see clearly.. got any ideas?

Yeah, none of the diecast trucks have opening hoods, except the Hiway 61s. I paid $75 for this one with Eagle graphics in mint condition...zero miles! I hope yours is in the same condition. Was it still in the box and all?

Re: She wanted $125 for it (72 Chevy Truck)

Ok ,,I have a confession to make..I fibbed ,,my camera isnt broke,, but I was gonna tell ya anyways at the end of this ..lol but the rest is true ,,all of it..

So, a couple of you were on to me and then along came Tim,,lol he knows me to well ,,should of exempted him huh? lol hope you had fun ,,I did.. he he

So here it is all the pieces except I have to glue the mirrors back on ,, I have go back and get them from the gal.. I have the box too,,the truck is from the Danbury Mint collection.. and last when made and for sale was $145 ,,but now is discontinued.. I seen one one Ebay with wipers broke off and no pieces with the truck and it sold for I think $45 ,,so being my daughter who lives in Denver and she is a Bronco fan.. she will get it some day..Now I am looking for a 49ers and a Steelers truck like this one..

What kinda beer was in the keg? Was it flat? That's cool! A free keg and a free chair! Set it up in front of your house, drink beer and stair at your new truck!
