I somehow missed this one. I have to agree.....I'm a big fan of the houndstooth as well as buddy buckets.

Mine are out of a '66 GMC. There are a couple of Jimmy owners on the boards that have these seats. The 67-68 chevy buddy buckets are more prevalent, but the center seat on those does not come up as high as the GMC model.

Re: Show us you're seats

Another useful thread.

HOW WIDE and HOW DEEP, and TALL are these bench seats ?

The reason I am asking is so that I know what size Mexican blanket to buy...... Nicola wants one.

My plan is to diamond stitch one to a regular cheapish seatcover and then fit, rather than drape it over and always having it distort.

Here is the seat from the truck I am investigating at the moment..... reupholstered in Snakeskin fabric.

I actually quite like it.

New vinyl, NOS cloth.

Blasted/painted the tracks.

Laying out the material for trimming.

Making patterns off a finished seat.

Burlap and thin carpet so the springs don't eat into the foam.

Man that seat came out beautiful

There as so many beautiful seats on this thread. What an amazing variety of incredible workmanship.

Back in the 60’s this would have been the hit of the show. Pleat and roll was far and away the most desired seat upholstery in inexistence at the time. It’s still one of my favorites. The 4 speed notch is excellently finished. Most young people were happy just to afford a smooth black Naugahyde seat cover – at least until it burned their backside in the sun!

neither one, this one is a semi custom made cover by a company called Automotive Interiors and Accessories Inc in MA, that sells online. You pick the design and colors from their design it window and it comes ready to install. Mine was $285 shipped, and it fit ready well too. Great deal for a custom made cover.

Re: Show us you're seats

I snatched this bench with the center console/armrest from what I think was
a '95 Silverado Z71. I was in such a hurry to get it off the salvage yard, I barely paid attention to the donor vehicle. Some kind soul had unbolted it and gently placed it on the bed of the truck ( with a pretty red bow...LOL) with some door panels partially covering it up. Looked like they might have been coming back for it later...it's a heck of a lot more comfortable than my old original bench!

Re: Show us you're seats

Anyone ever try some of those newer silverado seats Like verdell's '95 seats with original 60s style upholstery?? That's what I wanna do and I wanna see if it's been done so I can see what they might look like...

Seat is done. Blue vinyl with light grey cloth and some white inserts. Inspired by original custom seat out of 63.
