Re: 1967 C10 Urban Retro

Finally got my Red Oak Wood back and finally got some time to test fit it before staining. Made my marks for my holes that I'm going to have to drill. Not allthese aftermarket part hole are lining up. Going to have to drill some, on the front bed panels and the rear cross sills. The four coner boards are a pain. Also have my marks for my gas tank filler. hope fully I will have it complete by next week and installed.

Re: 1967 C10 Urban Retro

The first step you see is the marine varnish that I applied to the underside of my wood floor. I let that dry over night. Next I sanded the top side with 320 grit sand paper. I then applied the wood conditioner to get a full and consistant stain. Leave on for 5 minutes wipe with cloth towel wrapped over a paint roller and wiped. Immediately I applied my red mahogany stain. Leaving on for 5-10 minutes. Then i wiped the excess.

I then let the wood dry for 24 hours re-sanded with 320 grit and stained again!

Re: 1967 C10 Urban Retro

I also drilled my additional holes and had my gas tank filler hole done. I will give it a few days to dry and I will apply the mirror coat epoxy finish. (HOPEFULLY)

Re: 1967 C10 Urban Retro

I wanted to wait and show you the finish job with it in my truck, but I didnt know when I was going to have time to install it. The pictures arent the best. First coat created fish eye, which at first had me concerned, The second coat fixed 95%. It came out great! The pictures dont do it justice!!
