While I've been waiting on some metal to finish my transmission mount, I started working on installing the Vintage Air unit. I used the templates in the instructions and have all the vent holes cut out in the dash. Next I'll start working on the firewall block-off plates and installing the evaporator.

Thanks! Pretty straight forward, eh?

On a different note, I'm wondering if I should invest the time in swapping my batter to the other side, so that I can have a cold air box?

Looks great Rob, you wont know how to handle yourself riding around with the cool air blowing in your face! LOL, I would probably move the battery as well unless you can flip your intake to the other side somehow.

Thanks! Not enough room to do the air box on drivers side.

Re: 68 S/C update.....

I'm curious how you're going to run the battery cable to the starter now? Maybe use a junction on the passenger side near the old battery location? Run the battery wire along the core support and down the core support to the frame and back to the starter? Or up over the inner fender and down the firewall?

Thanks Marcus. It doesn't look as good in person, the semi-gloss paint hides a lot. I started to redo everything under the hood to make it look really nice, and then I came to my senses and I remembered what my objective was......

Yes it is. You'll really like the ease of install.

Good question! Every time I solve one problem, I create one or two more. But your suggestions sound like a good option.

Why not use the factory cable for the camaro or an LS equipped truck the battery is on the drivers side in both... I believe.

I guess the better question would have been, where's the starter at on the new engine? Is it still on the passenger side?

How is the factory battery cable routed in the newer truck/camaro if the starter is on the passenger side and the battery is on the drivers side? Something to think about... If the starter is on the drivers side, then all of my previous comments are pointless. Just curious how you'd do it, that's all.

Re: 68 S/C update.....

I believe that cable runs from junction block mounted on the side of the alternator bracket down and around the front of the oil pan then back to the starter, on the passenger side of the engine.
