Problem may be solved.....

I have been having a problem getting the roof line just right on the extended cab project that I am working on. It is close be not really what I wanted it to look like. Thanks to the part that I picked up from "Uncle" yesterday, my problem may be solved. With some work of course.

I hope you use the square cornered sub front doors and rounded rear doors

At this time I only plan to make an extended cab without any doors on the rear.

Tim's a good guy, sells at good prices. and this is a project i'm going to keep my eye on, looks pretty cool!

i like that you're going with a sub top rather than two standard cabs. i think the two-cab merge trucks look pretty crappy. this one should turn out pretty good.

How much of the top do you plan on using? I might need what you have left.

I cut the sub top off even with the back door, leaving from the rear window back.

is that part straight? If so, I might need part of it to straighten out some stuff on my crewcab.

The metal on top is real good. There is some rust behind the driver side window area. I still may have to use the part that rolls down at the back to match up the back of my cab.

You do know that the roof line on the suburban is different from the trucks? It is taller with a different line down the side above the drip rail.

It will be easier making that one work than making one from scratch .

Re: Problem may be solved.....

I finally got a little more work done on this project. It has taken a while, but the top is starting to come together.

Re: Problem may be solved.....

Progress has been slow on this build but hopefully that is about to change. I just ordered a set of suburban doors from GMCPauls. When they come in I will be able to see how much more work roof has left and get the b piilars put back together. Then things should move along a little faster.

Here is a picture of the progress so far. It has been a slow go but any progress is good progress I guess.
