If I recall.....I have 8.75 to the back and 6.25 to the front.....or 8.5/6.5!

I'm guessing you didn't have any clearance issues? Yours are 14" wide correct?

No clearance issues at all because I did all my cutting and welding first, then just ordered the wheels to fit perfectly. Yes, 15x14's.

How tall are your current tires? How much lower could you go in the back and still have good clearance?

hey Rob I pretty sure he is running a shortened axle and custom wheels...I'm jealious...but IMAO I have the biggest tire and wheels you can cram under with a stock axle and frame....

I could be wrong but I dont think you can put the 18.5 wide tires under our trucks if they are dropped

Ah Grasshopper......
those are 14" and that is a bone stock 12 bolt with zero narrowing. Look in my signature at the "my sorta build thread". You will see how the magic unfolded!!!!

Ahhh Not only did I read your build ( about 5 times) I could have writen it after I copied everything on my build...your budget build must have been shot in the AZZ after buying custom wheels....Keep in mind

Sherwood Racing ( owego ny 607-687-2991) will cut and add backspacing for about $50 a wheel.....told you I'm on a really low budget ..But you still get a gold star for making it work....

do you have 18x 29 or 31?? with the 31's I rub the inner bed sitting on the frame..with the 29'' alls good but like you I'm looking for another cheap set...

funny our build pics and what we are doing is almost Idenical except I'm going with the caddy to bad we don't live closer it would be great to see them side by side.....with a Xmas tree between them!!!

Re: Pro Street Trucks/Cars pics!!! im in love with the fatty tires!!

mines a '69 shortstep narrowed 9" (narrowed 4" total) running 31x18.50 pro streets . i'm splitting the stepside fenders lengthwise 2" to fit the fatties inside. also it helps the bed look a bit "bigger" compared to the cab! lol
just dyno'd the 460 blown big block 568hp/575 torque @5700rpm.
5psi boost which puts me at a modest 11.2:1 compression . the dyno pulls can be seen on youtube ..

Very nice!! I just put 31/16.5/15 under my '69 Fleetside & took 4 wheel tubs & made 2. I now wish I had waited till I found somebody to make my wheels & went with an 18.5 inch tire but my future plans are to fully tub it so it all will work out lol. Once again, very nice work!!!!
