What ATF are you running?
Thanks... That is my plan, it seems to be working great...

I am using Valvoline Dexron III... Should I think about using something else?

You may consider doing a couple Drain & Fills to replenish the additives that may have depleted from the high heat.

Valvoline Dex/Merc is a good conventional ATF. I didn't want to recommend draining a expensive Group IV synthetic ATF if that's what you were running.

Lol Cline I was waiting on his answer too before recommending a drain and fill. You pockets empty fast with a synthetic!

I'm curious to your thoughts on getting a machine flush done after all that?

I know a lot of shop have a trans flush machine now a days, and it can clean out the trans, converter and trans cooler all in one shot, plus it likely be a half hour to hour labour at most shops.

Re: LS SWAP 4l60e problems

The only thing I've ever seen a flush do is push out the remaining good seals, find every leak you have, and ensure that you'll get upsold by the tranny shop. They fall into the category of convenience services I don't trust, performed by people who shouldn't be near my truck.

If everything was brand new, and there was a reason to think something physically was clogged, then I might say yes. But on a trans with more than a couple miles on it I stay away.

I don't use or recommend their use, They pose a great risk for contamination, And as Brew said....Are often operated by unskilled personal.
