Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop

OH ! An update on my job situation.

I accepted the job yesterday. I will be working for the local 911 Operations center, doing Network and Telephony support / security / etc. for Chattanooga. Pretty excited man. A great friend of mine works there and has for a while. This has been an ideal job for me for a long time and I finally got it.

Maybe now I can really focus and get out of that immense load of stress I was under. The new job will not be stress free I know .. but working for a company with 13,000 employees and taking phone calls all day (?) Every phone call is a problem and you have to work with people to figure out what's going on and how to fix it.

It will drive you nuts man. .. I can't do it. The new job is still in IT, but just off the phone. I will be doing more Admin stuff that I truly WANT to do. I'm sick of being so anxious every time the phone rings. 13,000 people 1,200+ different applications, 5,000 servers .. etc. It's freakin crazy man. Just not the job for me. I'm STOKED.

Wow - Thanks guys. I got more support from my friends on the board than I did from the people I worked with. Just an angry bunch of grumpy people here .. just a miserable place to work. I am so thankful to be leaving.

I couldn't have done it without my friend Greg (his son was the one with the 4 way lug wrench ) .. things happen for a reason. That's why I feel like that was a test for me. Just how close are you to Greg?

I could have snapped at him, but really it wasn't his fault or his sons for that matter. It just happened. He's a good guy and would never do anything like that on purpose and I know that. He'd do anything in the world to help me and he proved it. I am fortunate to have friends I can count on. You guys are like a second family to me. 7 more work days in the hell hole.. I took some time off to work on my GMC, the bathroom project, and just re-focus. I start at 911 on 1/2/13

Heya, just wanted to say that I got an up close look at this truck today, and man is it a beaut! I'll bet it handles llike a new vette when you guys are done with it.

I'm the proud new owner of your GMC's old 6 lug shoes. I met your dad, and he is as nice a guy as any one could ever hope to run across.

Anyway both of your trucks are lookin killer man, good work!

Hey Conrad - Sorry I missed you! Thanks for the compliments on my trucks. The GMC is coming together, I hope to have it finished up by spring then I can finish the stepside. Don't hesitate to give us a shout if you're ever up this way. Thanks for getting the wheels, we just couldn't use them on the 5 lug swap. They seemed to run out really good, I drove the truck 300+ miles on them without any vibrations or whatever .. they seemed ok to me. I hope they work for what you need.

Take it easy ..

No.
Usually they are used when the M/C is mounted on the frame under the cab.
Lower than the calipers.

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop

Chad, congratulations on the new job! I did something similar this past March and I'm so much happier going to work now. I work hard, and it gets hella stressful, but at the end of the day I'm almost always proud of my day...hard to beat.

I'm currently using a mid '70's Corvette M/C & P/V, but I, too, will be using the Wilwood piece and custom bent lines with the adjustable Wilwood P/V (with brake switch...I have this one on my '93 Mustang with the '03 Cobra drivetrain). It works fantastically, and you can get your brake bias dialed in perfectly so it isn't a scary beast when it's wet out. Ask me how I know...

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop

Might be a good way to pick up some parts, Doors, fenders, etc and make a little money on them. The bed is probably worth most of the asking price.

SWB roller frame, Cab, etc.. or, drop a crate motor in it and flip it with some extra parts (?)
