Re: How about some pics of Static Dropped C-10's

Well what I did to get that was went to my machine shop an Drew up a basic spring/axle perch but the only difference was that I had him cut it I had him make it up where the perch was also the 2" block as well, so it was a 2in1 piece

That looks a bit scary to me. Is it fully welded? It doesn't look like the rearend was cleaned prior to welding.

You may want to take that axle out and reweld the perches without the rust. I've had bad experience with Welds+rust, they dont mix

Re: How about some pics of Static Dropped C-10's

No they are not fully welded there... But the rust in the area of weld was cleaned up with die grinder prior to the weld being put there.
The drop specs are approximately 5" front and 8"+ in the rear.
And unfortunately I don't know what rims they are they were on the truck when I bought it they are 15" though

I would get a tire that is as tall as the back for a level look that fills out the front wheel well.

I'm not sure what your wheel specs are, but I've got 265's (although on a 22" wheel) on all four corners of mine, without rubbing problems. 255's should be fine, if your tires aren't too close to the fender now. If you're concerned about rubbing the fenders, you could always just go taller, not wider. Say a 225/75/15? Just a thought.

Re: How about some pics of Static Dropped C-10's

Lol my problem is not width its hight. I have a 235/70/15 rollers on there now and I have 1 inch from the top of the tire to the inner fender lip where the hinge bolts on. It may not appear so in the pics but it rides about where a truck would sit if it was bagged out with stock spindles. If I put bags on it I could lay my fenders on the ground.

Re: How about some pics of Static Dropped C-10's

Not sure if this is right forum

I have P295/50R15 on rear of my 71 C10 and P255/60R15 on the front I've looked everywhere and can't seem to find the idealistic drop? Does anyone have this setup or know of the best or most common drop. Thanks in advance for your input.

Re: How about some pics of Static Dropped C-10's

4/6 is good for ride , thats what I have with an additional 3" of body drop, my tires are close in size to yours. So what you see in my pics is 7/9 drop. If you don't have deep bs win the rear Rims your tires will rub you need 6.5 bs atleast for a 12 wide rear and that is on an early(narrow rear) you need 7.5 bs for a 70+ rear. With a 10 rim just subtract 2" bs =)

Re: How about some pics of Static Dropped C-10's

Thanks Robznob11,

As I said I'm really a noob with all this suspension stuff so in saying that is 4/6 mean 4 inch drop in front 6 in rear¿ sorry for my ignorance on this. Would it be best to use lowering coils ? What is the best recommended coils or drop spindles¿ Can someone please explain this to me.thank you for all feedback .

Early Classic enterprises is the only people I recommend to buy a 4/6 kit from. www.earlyclassic.com

If you want sports car handling then go with the Hotchkis TVS kit, but for a driver/cruiser, ECE all the way.
