New Truck

Just bought this truck off ebay(haven't picked it up yet, hopefully tomorrow or the day after). I looked at in person and it is one of the nicest originals I have ever, ever seen! The box is perfect! The only rust is in the rockers(none through on cab corner). Runs like a top(has glass packs with 90s before the rear tires). The guy that owns it right now bought it from the original owner. The current owners dad serviced this truck back in the day. It was used to pull a trailer its whole life. The timberliner package added front and rear chrome bumpers, bumper guards and the two tone paint with special emblems(looks just like longhorn emblems except they say timberliner). I can't wait to pick it up. It's beautiful and will receive a new grille(someone backed into it and took off), rockers, seat cover, mirrors, bumper guards, tilt, power steering, and a good wax job. It's just plain beautiful and has a full history to go with it. Enjoy the pics.

Re: New Truck

I like that orange/white combo. That truck looks really taken care of even though its missing tooth and bumper guard. The hubcaps look in better shape than my whole truck Congrats on a good find, and no ebay nightmares

Re: New Truck

I must say, I am skeptical of this Timberliner talk. That being said, I have been skeptical of a lot of things that have turned out true. Tell us more!

I am willing to bet the white box is an electric brake controller.

Re: New Truck

thanks for compliments guys. The timberliner package was a one dealership package(T and W Chevrolet in Missoula Montana). T and W Chevy is gone but the current chevrolet dealer in missoula still has specialty pickups. I have heard one is called the grizzly package(for the montana grizzlies football team), so I believe the history I have been provided with is accurate. The package brightened the truck up quite a bit. This is probably the only that is still around. When I get it I will take pictures of the emblems, they are identical to longhorn emblems except they say timberliner.

Plans are to just fix the little rust that it has and restore it to original(im gonna add tilt and power steering for comfort). These trucks are getting difficult to find for sale, but the fact that this one was soooooo nice and I was able to look at it in person and drive it, sealed the deal for me.

The white box is something to do with brakes as the truck was used to pull a trailer its entire life.

Re: New Truck

Oh yeah, it was solid orange to begin with and dealing on ebay can be a hassle, but since it's about 5 miles from my house, it made things a lot easier.

WOW! That is an awesome find. Was that upper trim unique to the Timberliner package?

Re: New Truck

Cool. Is the upper trim different? I'd like to see a close up pic of the Timberliner emblem when you get it. I like seeing the different dealer installed packages and bumpers. Try to get some sleep, I know your mind will be racing until you get it home.

Re: New Truck

Yes the upper trim is not regular upper trim. It is a lot thinner and I am not sure how its held on, but I bet it's 3m tape or something. The other bumper guard is there, just need the bracket to hold it on the bumper.
