need help/suggestions
Hey guys I am really needing some advice. I am working on a 66 c10 and have spent a ton of time on bodyworking the doors and fenders.I repaired rust in the lower fenders and installed new skins on the doors. The problem I am having is that both the doors and fenders tend to roll inward at the edges,I had them both straight and blocked out multiple times so much so that the edges of the fender and door had probably 1/8 inch of filler and primer, it was noticeable.I attached pics of the door and fender fittment but am really at a loss as how to correct the problem.I am almost ready to scrap them and buy new fenders and doors but I am sure they have their share of problems as well.Any way thanks for the help in advance.

Re: need help/suggestions
Have either the doors or fenders been removed? Its all about adjustments to both. Do the doors first, equalize the gaps of the door then do the fenders and keep the edges of both thin so your not smacking together cracking your filler.

Re: need help/suggestions
yes I have had them both off multiple times, the door and fender edges roll inward at the edges and I dont know how to pull those out or if these trucks all roll inward.

Re: need help/suggestions
I have a '63, I personally have never pulled mine off but at sometime in its life I'm sure they were removed. Anyways, mine roll in as well. I just assumed they were made this way for clearance purposes. I could be wrong, just my $.02

Re: need help/suggestions
I'll post pics of the tip I made to pull door edges, it bolts to a slide hammer. You might have to make relief cuts where it rolls at the body line. All of them roll in at the front edges though, another set of doors won't fix it.

Re: need help/suggestions
well I decided to try and take care of these door issues this morning but things did not go so well. I have included pics of what I tried to do, so when I made the cuts to the door I was able to pull the edge of the door out flush with my straight edge but it created a dip behind the cuts on the door.I made another cut to try and relieve the dip but I didnt do anything other than make a real mess of things. To make matters worse I installed sound deadener before I put the door skins on and it doesnt weld very well and there is no way to remove it without cutting the door skin off.At this point I am not sure what I will do as I become really discouraged with the way things are turning out.Any way I really appreciate all those who responded with suggetions. I have included pics of the mess I made.

Re: need help/suggestions
I think a new door is in store for you. I know my doors both have a slight
3/16"- 1/4" curve inward. the PS has more than the DS. I presume it is to clear the fenders when part open.

Re: need help/suggestions
they are designed to have the tuck in them. If you want it perfectly straight, its gonna take some work.
