GMT800 1999-2007 GM Fullsize light Trucks and SUVs FAQ

GMT800 1999-2007 GM Fullsize light Trucks and SUVs FAQ

I'm looking for threads from this forum to fill this. I've started looking through the posts in this forum starting with the oldest. There are over 100 pages and the builds section to look through so it'll take me some time.

I will occasionally move or delete user posts from this thread to keep it un-cluttered.
If you don't want your comments to be ruthlessly pruned  the FAQ Discussion is in this thread. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=805893

The following are GMT800 series light trucks.
  • 1999-2006 Chevrolet Silverado & GMC Sierra
  • ........2007 Chevrolet Silverado Classic & GMC Sierra Classic
Non trivial body, interior, and electrical revisions were implemented in the model year 2003 and newer Sierra and Silverado.
  • 2000-2006 Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Yukon, & Chevrolet Suburban
  • 2002-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche
  • 2002-2006 Cadillac Escalade
  • 2002-2009 Hummer H2
  • 2003-2014 GMC Savana and Chevrolet Express Fullsize vans. While not GMT800 series these fullsize vans are used as commercial delivery and service vehicles and are sisters to the light trucks. Just as the older G & P series vans were with the T400 & earlier CK series light truck lines.

Re: GMT800 1999-2007 GM Fullsize light Trucks and SUVs FAQ

I have a 2003-4.3 silverado. The gas gauge will drop to empty, then go back to normal.Every time you start it the clock resets to 12.00. Going down the road seatbelt light comes and goes. When I first got the truck, starting it caused sparks to fly from the ground bar under back corner drivers side cab corner. I removed ground, cleaned and greased it and sparks stopped. If it sits for a week it will drain a redtop optima battery. When driving it shows over 14 on amp gauge. Any recalls on electrial on these trucks? TIA on any advice that might help.
