Re: Buddy Bucket Seats

These aren't mine, but they are from a '68. They have the original seat belt for the center seat and the buckles for the outer seats.

Those seat belts are from a late model something i believe.

Easiest way i tell on the frames is the chevy frame has the extra attaching point under the center console. Not there on a dodge.

Re: Buddy Bucket Seats

Anyone know if that style of buckets came in a 1970 CST 10 SWB? Wondering if the ones in my truck are the originals or from a earlier truck.

Re: Buddy Bucket Seats

no buddy buckets after 68'. You should have the sporty bucket seats if they are original. Trevor

Yes, like they were made for 'em. The factory bench seat holes line up w/the buddy-bucket frame holes so nothing extra needed there. The center support needs to be shortened to fit the 64's floor pan. That's as simple as cutting the original 90° end off, drilling some holes, & bolting it back on @ the correct height.... I have some going in my 64.

I've posted pics of the seats, but don't have any of them in the truck. I will be able to get some in the next few weeks once I get the truck back from the paint shop (for the interior).

Before & after . . ....

Re: Buddy Bucket Seats

Can someone send me the measurement of the metal seat pan for the middle buddy seat? I got a smoking deal on a buddy bucket seat, but it was missing that piece. I will need to fabricate my own pan. Any help would be greatly appreciated! - Eric

Re: Buddy Bucket Seats

Can anybody tell me how the center Buddy seat back works in a
Suburban? I bought a set yesterday and it looks like that center seat back would just flop over backwards till the top hit the floor without a gas tank to lean on, is something missing?

the center will flop over backwards. not practical for a suburban...which is why they only came in trucks.

Not so fast my friend! They DID come in Burbs but the center console didn't have a back to it (the flip up part), , just the bottom tray and seat cushion. The factory truck ones can be modified pretty easily to keep the seat back from flopping over. Check out my burb build and there should be pictures of how to do it.
