Porterbuilt Stage II "Mild Drop Kit" for 63-72C10

Since our suspension products have been catering to the “extreme low” group for quite some time now… we figured it best to develop a kit for those not looking to lay frame but have a nice simple drop (we wouldn’t want to be accused of discrimination towards those not wanting to cut up their bed-floors!). Although we haven’t officially released the kit yet, here are some pics for those who might be interested. I will happily answer any questions that may arise. The complete kit will be offered at an introductory price (it will increase) of $1499 plus shipping for all forum members. The “complete kit” includes the following: Tubular adjustable trailing arm x-member (will need to specify one or two piece drive-shaft); tubular trailing arms; bolt-in two-piece c-notch; shock relocation kit (includes upper and lower shock bars, shocks (KYB), and all mounting brackets and hardware); fully adjustable panhard bar; air springs; and all necessary hardware to complete installation. I can break the kit up in pieces for those not wanting the whole thing, but there are some components that are designed to work in unison. I will also be releasing another variation that will work with factory trailing arms.

Re: Porterbuilt StageII "Mild Drop Kit" for 63-72C10

Wow that is Hot.. is it possible to use a drop coil with this set up instead of a bag? Would the current version of the drop member go with this set up or is something else in the works?

A drop coil is compatible with this set-up.

Up front bags and our plates or our Porterbuilt Tubular Control Arms with our shock relocation kit would be the best match. The Dropmember would create a pretty decent rake.

Re: Porterbuilt StageII "Mild Drop Kit" for 63-72C10

Nice work! How much of a drop will this give you when the air bags are aired up for driving. I know you can adjust the drop with the psi but is there any other way to adjust the drop such as in the trailing arms?

I think I my be interested the the version using the stock trailing arms. What advantages or disadvantages do you see in the two trailing arms other than price?

Thanks Nate

6-8" of rear drop depending on which PB-TA you choose (2" or 3" drop) & what air pressure you decide (30-60psi varies the height about 2-3").

PB-TA's (Porterbuilt Truck-arms) are new vs. @ least 28yrs of age (unless you have aftermarket units). They offer more torsional stiffness because they're welded tube contruction vs. spot-welded I-beam construction. They allow using a pivot style bearing for more articulation w/o bind vs. a bubber or poly bushing. They include the shock bracketry & panhard bar mount into the design of the TA vs. having to purchase them separately.

Can you get some pictures of it layed out with a bed on the frame so we can see exactly the stance you will get out of this kit?

Hey thanks for the reply. Yeah I am looking for about a 6" drop. I would like to purchase the kit with the PB-TA's eventually. My wish list is just bigger than my wallet right now.

I will definitely post up pics of the truck with bed installed shortly. I have a couple more things to do before I set the bed back on. I will also be installing bag plates and control arms up front.

Nate, what would the price be with coils instead of bags?

Would the coil-over dropmember with a Stock spindle compliment this stage II rear drop with out too much rake? (when that version is released)

This is a great looking kit. I like how it all works together and looks neat and clean.

With it aired out, how far is the frame from the ground at the TA Crossmember?

I sure am. Having the option of coil-over... for those of us that don't want to run bags too.
