Re: 68 S/C update.....

This thing is looking amazing. Are you still working on the tranny program? I got my '09 dialed in pretty good but I am still not happy with my power downshift.

This truck has a lot of parts that I am interested in. The Dakota Digital gauges you have how did you work the OBDII interface? Also, did you get the boost referance gauge from DD? I may have missed it, but how did you hook the paddle shifter up to the trans and is it the only thing used to shift the trans?

Do you have pictures of this?

Still playing with the tranny. I used this software program to help withe tuning the shift points and the TCC lock up:

http://www.hptuners.com/forum/showth...Table-Software

I used the Dakota digital BIM -01-1 OBDII interface. I have a NGK wideband that has a display and plugs into my HPTuners interface so I can also datalog it. The paddle shifters have a wireless interface that connects to the Tap up Tap down (TUTD)wire the Speartech pulled when he build my harness. The only way an A6 can be shifted "manually" is with a TUTD switch.

It's just for show. This truck does not run on gas... It runs on plutonium. He has one of these in the buddy console

Re: 68 S/C update.....

No big updates. Just fine tuning a few things. The new tank and filler tube are working great. I have filled it several times and other than having to be careful when it's almost full, I have had zero problems.

Im building a 6.0 lq4 drop member 70 swb with a 6L80e as well, need the most clearance as possible obviously so I'm just trying to confirm.
or are you running a camaro pan on the 6.2? I know it was earlier in the thread its just so many pages to sift through! Nice DD also! those taillights look different to me, maybe just real new camaro?! Thanks Rod in advance. Derek
Thanks Derek. If you are running the PB extreme dropmember, you will need to use the Camaro FBody oil pan (98-02), that's what's on my son's truck with the LS1 and PB stuff. Here's the oil pan on my gold 68 (factory front crossmember):

http://www.ebay.com/itm/CTS-V-OIL-PA...93ab02&vxp=mtr

and the tranny pan:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Auto-Trans-O...ed8365&vxp=mtr

Make sure you get the matching tranny filter to go with it.

I made the filler tube from a piece of 2" exhaust pipe and the cap came from West Marine. It's a gas filler for a boat.

That'd be great for the sleeper look, but you gotta think they'd know something is up when they see those huge meats you're rolling in the rear. Oh, & I'm sure it doesn't sound too sleeper-ish either?

X2... but so far I think it looks cool. Some big (20") truck ralleys would look cool with the topper.

I say run with it.. While I love the truck without, it really should throw some youngsters into a tizzy when you have smoke billowing out the back hatch!.. and all they see are the black marks in front of them..

Re: 68 S/C update.....

A friend of mine recently bought a 2014 GMC with your combo and says he hates it, the transmission that is. Says it is all time searching for gears. When you slow down instead of coasting it downshifts and increases engine speed and is really annoying. When he reported it to dealer, they said it is a common complaint and can't anything be down about it. Have you experienced similar problems?

Thanks,

I like it more than I thought I would. Every since I saw a pic of my grandpa's truck with a shell on it, I've been sorta looking for one.
