That should help a good bit, but if you could swap your front wheels for 15x7 it will help pull the tire away from where the inner fender rolls out to the fender lip. Keep in mind using those sizes will give you a little "rake" as the 245 is about 1.4" shorter than the 275. Just my .02¢.

I am in the middle of a frame off build using PB parts, LS1 etc... and reading your thread and has me wishing I had found a truck like yours and done exactly what you are doing. You have a good one hold on to it.

Re: "Brass Monkey".....Installing 4/6" ECE Drop Kit

I think a 225 65 on a 7" rim would be near ideal. Not sure if that tire exists though.

Nice truck, One day i hope to go the PB/LS route. But may not be with this truck.

I pulled the BFG size charts.

Would i be better off with a 255/60 on the rear with the 245/60on the front?
This would minimize the tire rake to a 1/4" differece in lieu of a .7" difference with the 275/245 combo.

I think that is personal preference, I like a little rake but you may want to sit level. It's up to you.

Re: "Brass Monkey".....Installing 4/6" ECE Drop Kit

I have 29" tires on the back of my truck and 27" on the front. That is a little noticeable rake. Those small #'s you talk won't matter a bit.

It looks to me that the truck has about the right amount of rake now, But it also has not settled out yet.

I don't really want to add another 3/4" of rake to it.

I was thinking that with the 4/6 drop it would have been more leveled out initially.

Re: "Brass Monkey".....Installing 4/6" ECE Drop Kit

I had a 28" front tire and 29" rear tire with a 5.5/7 drop before I took my truck apart and it sat almost dead level. The secret for not rubbing in the front is tire size and off-set (backspace).

I agree with ECE . A 245/60 15 is only 26.46 inches tall where as the 255/70 is 29.04 tall. A 245 tire is 9.64 inches wide and a 255 is 10.03 wide which is .39 wider. You are running 8 inch wide rims which are perfect for 255/70's. In you went to a 245/60 on a 7 inch wide rim your truck should have any rubbing problems as your tire would be 1.39 inches narrower and 2.58 inches lower. If you want the rake look then the 275/15's on the back with 245's up front will give you that. If you want it level run the 245's on all 4 corners and the 2 inch front to back drop difference should just about level out the truck. I believe there is a natural 3 to 31/2 front to back natural height difference on a stock height truck.

Finally after 2 weeks of ice I was able to get it loaded on the trailer. Now they are calling for 6-10" of more ice and snow!

I don't know if i will ever get this truck to the alignment shop!

Winter has really come on hard here at the end. Nice trailer! Truck looks good. Is that your shop? Really nice. And of course I like the tow rig too.
